A really cool classic toy from the 60s produced by Marx Toys. Garloo was a very large battery operated that retailed for a whopping $17.98 in 1961! That was a ton of money! You can steer Garloo with the little steering wheel on the remote control on his battery box, move him forward or backward, open or close his arms and make him bend over to pic up objects. Marx also put out a 3 inch metal and plastic wind-up called Son of Garloo. Tags:marxvintagegarlooclassic60s Added: 20th August 2007 Views: 418 Rating: Posted By:dezurtdude

A 1961 commercial for The Great Garloo by Marx toys. This toy is hot and collectors go nuts over them even if they don't work. Notice the price at the end. It must have floored most parents! See the pictures I have of this toy and his son from my collection. Tags:greatgarlootoysclassicvintage Added: 21st August 2007 Views: 656 Rating: Posted By:dezurtdude
One of the greatest sustained comedic sequences ever: the mirror skit with Lucille Ball and Harpo Marx from a 1955 episode of I Love Lucy. Consider how difficult it must have been to master the timing needed to pull this off! Enjoy! Tags:HarpoMarxmirror Added: 28th September 2007 Views: 453 Rating: Posted By:Lava1964
The first and most famous version was hosted by Groucho Marx, with the unflappable announcer and assistant George Fenneman. The show debuted on radio in 1947, then made the transition to TV. The television version was changed very little from the radio version. It was filmed before a studio audience, then slightly edited for television broadcast. In 1960 it was renamed The Groucho Show and ran another year. This pilot was made for CBS. You can see stagehands adjusting the microphones during the broadcast. Groucho himself doesn't bother to dress up for his debut!
Recorded on December 5, 1949. Tags:grouchomarxyoubetyourlifetelevisiongameshows Added: 11th October 2007 Views: 400 Rating: Posted By:Guido
