This is for Naomi: Bobby Clarke of the Philadelphia Flyers displays the dangers of playing hockey--especially in the days before protective face shields. Clarke's toothless grin became something of a trademark for him.

Hi Gang,
My name is Roseann and I have been part of the YRT family for a little over a month. I grew up in the 50's in an Italian family.
I have one brother and two sisters. I live in Syracuse, New York and have lived here all my life. Typical 50's story, got married right out of high school, had 5 children by the time i was 26 years old. Of course I did not live happily ever after like the fairy tales, but it was all good anyway. I was a stay at home mom and we pretty much lived a happy days existence.
My husband owned a Big M supermarket so I had the luxury of staying home being a housewife and loved every minute of it.
Divorced after 20 years of marriage. I am presently living alone with my 2 shih tzus. I have been blessed with a wonderful family. and thank you all for allowing me to be part of the YRT family. Love to all of you.

Did you drive your mom crazy at the supermarket?? I did, and it was always for the extra goodies that were in the cereal boxes. Want a replica of a brand new Ford? Just get mom to buy Grape Nuts Flakes, maybe dad will eat it......

Ralph Nader will be running for President again this election. His only claim to fame was taking this car off the market back in the 60s. I only bring this to your attention because one if not two generations have no idea who Ralph Nader is. Google his book that took this car off the road Unsafe at Any Speed and you will find so many saying Nader was wrong.

The most hideous sports uniforms of all time may have been donned by the American Football League's Denver Broncos in 1960 and 1961. The ugly mustard-colored jerseys were awful, but the true eyesores were the stirrup socks with vertical stripes. They were the idea of Dean Griffing, the Broncos' general manager, who insisted the unique socks made the players look taller. Perhaps, but they also unquestionably looked silly. The media derided them as 'clown socks.' So reviled was the hosiery that when the Broncos' uniforms got a complete makeover in 1962, more than 8,300 people attended a ceremony in which the socks were tossed into a large bonfire. A few pairs escaped the flames, though. One set is on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Some players retained their socks as keepsakes. An authentic pair is apparently worth $500 on the sports collectibles market.

Here is a fun segment with B.J. and Blob from one of the best and most remembered Chicago children's shows (although it was eventually syndicated to other markets) - Gigglesnort Hotel. Even though it was seen for many years after it was produced, the show was only in production for 3 years - 1975, 1976, and 1977. In Chicago, it aired on Sunday mornings on WLS Channel 7.

IMO. one of the most instantly recognisable guitar players on the planet. Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits have given us some the most memorable tunes and songs.
