Frank's comment about ABC's 1966-67 schedule made reference to the short-lived Tammy Grimes Show. Here is a black-and-white version of the first 10 minutes of the first episode. Broadway star Tammy Grimes played madcap, free-spending bank heiress Tamantha Ward. Dick Sargent (later to be the second Darrin on Bewitched) played her brother, Terence. Only 10 episodes were ever made, and only four were aired before the series was axed. The Tammy Grimes show was produced by William Dozier, the man responsible for making Batman a huge hit on ABC. The network hoped Dozier could strike gold again with The Tammy Grimes Show. It didn't happen. Slotted against My Three Sons and Star Trek, poor ratings and negative reviews quickly killed this show.

A 1966 "zany" sitcom, "The Pruitts Of Southampton" starred the mad cap Phyllis Diller! Unfortunately low ratings forced ABC to retool the show and in January 1967 the show was re-titled "The Phyllis Diller Show" and moved it from Tuesday's at 9pm to Friday's at 9:30pm! I guess the damage was done because by the end of the season the "Pruitts" were cancelled:-( Silly sitcom yes, but no sillier than The Lucy Show over on CBS! BTW the exterior shot of the Pruitts home is actually the Biltmore Estate in NC!

The triva picture of Father Merrin arriving to perform an exorcism just doesn't do it justice so I made a quick video of it since I have the movie in digital format. The scene in the movie doesn't have the song "Tubular Bells" playing during the scene but I added it for effect! In the scene you'll see "Regan" or should I say the "Demon" realizing Father Merrin has been summond and also knows when he arrives. About 1 minute long....

I'm watching Sunday Night Football and Washington is playing their long time rival Dallas Cowboys. Something made me think of Coach George Allen.

Here's a montage of video moments featuring the unique interaction between Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali. (It was done in 1992 to celebrate Ali's 50th birthday, but the clips span several decades; I listed it in the 1970s because that's when I best remember watching Cosell interview Ali.) The ending is surprisingly touching.

Dolly's song "Me and Little Andy." Does anyone else remember this? Everyone I talk to has no idea what song I was talking about. I remember this from when I was little and it obviously made a lasting impression. I apologize for the really sad post.

I haven't seen this clip in years! On February 4, 1912, an Austrian tailor named Franz Reichelt decided to test a homemade parachute by jumping off the Eiffel Tower. A camera crew was there to film the event.
