Who Shot JR Who shot J.R.? was a mass media-manufactured open question in 1980. In the CBS television series Dallas, the character of J.R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman, was shot by an unknown assailant in the final scene of its 1979-1980 season, which aired on March 21, 1980 and was entitled A House Divided. Viewers had to wait all summer, and most of the fall due to a Hollywood actors' strike, to learn whether J.R. would survive, and which of his many enemies was responsible. Security was tightened at the Lorimar studios where Dallas was filmed. During the summer of 1980, the question "Who shot J.R.?" was asked in everyday conversations across America and worldwide. T-shirts printed with such references as "Who Shot J.R.?" and "I Shot J.R.!" became common over the summer. Betting parlors worldwide took in massive amounts of money. People were placing bets as to which one of the 10 or so principal characters had actually pulled the trigger that shot J.R. A session of the Turkish parliament was suspended to allow legislators a chance to get home in time to view the Dallas episode. Ultimately, the person who pulled the trigger was revealed to be the character of Kristin Shepard (played by Mary Crosby) in the "Who Done It?" episode which aired on November 21, 1980. Kristin was J.R.'s scheming sister-in-law and mistress, who shot him in a fit of anger.

1971 Super Stock Cover Drag racing was a "new" thing in the early fifties. It was still an outcast activity seeking the direction needed to ensure its survival as a legitimate, and legal activity. The legions of young men who had a desire to test their homemade cars in open competition would find that direction with the birth of the National Hot Rod Association. One of the first drag strips to operate on a regular basis was in Reyes own backyard. The Santa Ana drags were conducted at the local airport, and in 1955, a then fourteen-year-old Larry Reyes took his first trip down that historical quarter mile. His mother's Volkswagen was his first ride . . .

I Dream Of Jeannie I Dream of Jeannie was a popular American sitcom with a fantasy premise. Produced by Screen Gems, it aired from 1965 to 1970 on NBC. The show starred Barbara Eden as a genie, and Larry Hagman as an astronaut who becomes her master, with whom she falls in love and eventually marries...i wanted to have a bedroom that looked like her bottle!

PERFECT STRANGERS 1986 to 1993 Remember Perfect Strangers, starring Mark Lynn Baker as Larry Appleton and his cousin Balki from the greek island of Mypos? Balki travels to the US to find his relatives and ends up sharing accommodations in Larry's apartment, even though the two cousins could not be more dissimilar. While Larry is panicky, hyperventilative, businesslike and mercenary, Balki is placid, unharried, sunny-natured and idealistic. This show gave us some of the best laughs of the 80s.

Hogans Heroes pilot intro Only one episode of Hogan's Heroes was ever shot in black-and-white: the pilot episode. Here is the introduction. You'll note a few changes from the later introductions. The pilot episode had a Russian character in it and Sergeant Carter was absent. Once the series began in earnest, the Russian character was ditched and replaced by Larry Hovis' Sgt. Carter. (Hovis had appeared in the pilot episode as a guest character.) This move actually better reflected reality. Russians captured by the Germans were not treated nearly as well as those from other Allied countries. There would have been no Russians in a Luftstalag.

My Favorite Car was My First Car In 1965 when I graduated high school my dad FINALLY let me get my driver's license so I could get a car and a job. Of course he went with me because he was going to make the down payment, so I had to really talk him into the car I wanted, as it was a 1963 fire engine red Dodge Dart GT ragtop. It was gorgeous, at least to me. My dad wasn't really crazy about it, because he said it had probably been owned by some teenager who drag raced it all the time, but hey, that was my dad. He did agree after a little whining, and I drove it out of the lot straight to my best friend's house! I was so excited, my first car, and it looked like something I had only dreamed of owning. He had wanted me to get a Metropolitan, because he said they were safer. Ugh. I had such good times in this car, going down the road with the radio blasting out the Beatles, at 100 mph. I drove it to my first job, I still remember heading home on the Interstate late at night, in the dead of a Florida winter (50 degrees), with the top down and the heat on full blast. A few months later I met Larry, he kept my car one day while I was at work and had the nerve to take off the white twin racing stripes I had put on the hood and the trunk. I was crushed! And my dad made it worse by thanking him for doing it!! So my car made it through our first born in 1966 and then I had to part with her when she began having oil problems. But I will always miss my little Dodge Dart.

Lucy and Desi although this pic didn't come from the I LOVE LUCY show (it's obviously a publicity shot) i still like it a lot. And now, a little "I LOVE LUCY" TRIVIA: *It was the first to tape before a live audience. *Fred and Ethel's bickering relationship didn't require much acting; in real life Vivian Vance and William Frawley didn't care for each other at all. *Did you know that the original names for the Ricardos would have been Lucy and Larry Lopez? In the lost pilot episode, the voiceover says "You are about to see the pilot episode of the show that was almost I Love Lopez." *In the episode entitled "Lucy is Enceinte". .if you look carefully at the beginning, Lucy is reading McCall's Magazine, and "I LOVE LUCY" is on the cover.
