Carole Landis was born on New Year's Day in 1919 and was primarily know as a B movie actress. Her busiest year ever turned out to be 1942, with roles in six films such as MANILA CALLING, THE POWERS GIRLS, and A GENTLE MAN AT HEART . . On July 5, 1948, Carole committed suicide on an overdose of Seconal in her Brentwood Heights, California home. She was only 29 and had made 49 motion pictures, unfortunately, mostly forgettable ones.

But Landis did it via a combination of personality and a face and body that would cost a fortune to buy today. In addition to Grable, Landis steals SCREAMING from a cast that includes Victor Mature, creepy Laird Cregar and Elisha Cook, Jr . . .

My very favorite Serling creation from 1983 starring Dan Aykroyd, Albert Brooks, Vic Morrow, John Lithgow and Burgess Meredith as the Narrator. Directed by Joe Dante, John Landis, George Miller and Steven Spielberg.
