A masterpiece of off the wall comedy, Airplane stars Robert Hays as an exfighter pilot forced to take over the control of an airliner when the flight crew succumbs to food poisoning, Julie Hagerty as his girlfriend, stewardess, co-pilot, and a cast of all-stars including Peter Graves, Leslie Nielson, Robert Stack and Lloyd Bridges. This film became a cult classic. I was never able to see these actors in quite the same way again lol

Forget any other horror film, or any other film about the supernatural you've ever seen, this will scare the c*** out of you, no joke. I was raised watching these types of films, with my mom, so I've seen them all, but this scared me to death. It's what you don't see that will get to you. And there were no special visual effects, like in so many other films of this type, it was all done with sound effects, relying on your imagination to finish the job. Shirley Jackson wrote the book, from which this was taken, in 1959, titled The Haunting of Hill House.

Here is a rare clip of Julie Andrews in her famous role as Eliza Doolittle singing Wouldn't It Be Loverly. Is it any wonder why people went wild over this play?

Robert Goulet passed away this morning (10/30) while awaiting a lung transplant at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after being found last month to have a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis. He had remained in good spirits even as he waited for the transplant, said Vera Goulet, his wife of 25 years. "Just watch my vocal cords," she said he told doctors before they inserted a breathing tube. He was the only son of French Canadian parents, Joseph Georges Andre Goulet and the former Jeanette Gauthier. Though he was born in Massachusetts, his parents moved back to Canada just a few months after his birth. He gained stardom in 1960 with "Camelot," the Lerner and Loewe musical that starred Richard Burton as King Arthur and Julie Andrews as his Queen Guenevere. In his last performance Sept. 20 in Syracuse, N.Y., the crooner was backed by a 15-piece orchestra as he performed the one-man show "A Man and his Music." Robert Goulet won a 1968 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for this performance in " The Happy Time". He was 73.

In her pre-Catwoman days, Julie Newmar appeared as a mystery challenger on What's My Line. This clip must be from about 1960. That's when Julie's movie they're referring to (The Marriage-Go-Round) was released.
