Our Gang - Mary Ann Jackson Mary Ann Jackson was the main female character in the Our Gang series during its transition period from silent movies to talkies. Jackson joined the troupe in 1928 at age six. She came from a family with plenty of acting experience. Jackson's mother was a stage actress while her older sister had roles in some D.W. Griffith films. Jackson herself had movie experience dating back to 1925. Our Gang Director Robert McGowan preferred casting children with no acting experience in order to project natural child-like behavior, but he made an exception in Jackson's case. Jackson was a tomboyish 'plain Jane' character who was vastly different from all the female Our Gang leads that came before and after her. She had the ability to both deliver a wisecrack and elicit pathos. Jackson's last Our Gang appearance came in 1931. She then abruptly quit the business at age eight, seldom acting again. Jackson died of a heart attack at age 80 in 2003.

Airman Ghost Photo 1919 This photo was taken in 1919 and remains one of the most compelling photographic proofs of ghostly appearances. It is a reunion photo of a British Royal Flying Corps squadron who served together in the First World War. A face can clearly be seen lurking behind the fourth man from the left in the top row. (It has been magnified in the circle.) The face was easily recognized by the aviators as Freddy Jackson, a squadron buddy. The trouble was that Jackson, a mechanic, had been accidentally killed by an airplane propeller two days earlier! Jackson's funeral took place on the very day this photograph was taken.

sammy sosa before and after 2009 Baseball legend and home run hitter Sammy Sosa had an unfortunate accident with his moisturizer cream he used to treat his sun damaged skin, it seems the cream turned his skin a pale white. Spotted at the Latin Grammy Awards a few days ago he showed up and caused quite a shock with his new look. Sammy insists he did not intentionally bleach his skin white like the dearly departed Michael Jackson openly admitted to because of his skin disease.

Chase- Get It On As the 1970s began, Bill Chase found himself thinking of creating his dream band. The group evolved over six months into the four trumpets, four rhythm instruments and one vocalist arrangement which earned the group a "Best New Artist" Grammy nomination 1971. When his group Chase blasted on the scene with "Get It On," The trip to the top was swift. Chase was soon in demand by Johnny Carson, The Smothers Brothers and many of the other hot variety shows on television. In 1974, Chase chartered a plane to take him and three band members to a performance in Jackson, MN. The weather was bad with a low ceiling, and the airport in Jackson had little communications equipment. The plane went down, but was not found until the next day. There were no survivors.
