Brenda Lee Still Rockin Around the Christmas Tree It was 1958 when Brenda Lee first recorded this song, and even though Decca released it in both 1958 and again in 1959, it didn't sell well until she became a popular star in 1960. That Christmas it hit #16 on the Billboard pop chart and turned into a perennial holiday favorite. It continued to sell well during the holiday season for the next 24 years, hitting #5 on the Xmas chart in 1984. I believe this clip is from the mid 90's, from one of her annual Christmas shows.

Foreman vs Cooney Two aging but hard-hitting heavyweights, George Foreman and Gerry Cooney, do battle on January 15, 1990 at Caesars Atlantic City. Unofficially dubbed 'Two Geezers At Caesars,' the fight ended with a spectacular knockout.

Foreman Vs Norton George Foreman defends his world heavyweight title against Ken Norton in Caracas, Venezuela in January 1974. Norton survives one round against the heavy-hitting champ but he does not get through round two. Listen for Muhammad Ali shouting instructions to Norton. Clearly, Ali preferred facing Norton rather than Foreman.

Babe Ruth Walter Johnson 1942 During the Second World War, retired baseball greats Babe Ruth and Walter Johnson made an appearance at a charity game at New York's Yankee Stadium. (Of course the climax was Ruth hitting one of Johnson's pitches over the right field fence.)

1956 Cincinnati Reds on Whats My Line Eleven members of the 1956 Cincinnati Reds baseball team appeared as mystery challengers on this episode of What's My Line on June 24 of that year. Power-hitting first baseman Ted Kluszewski acted as their spokesman. That's a very young Frank Robinson on the far right.

Joe DiMaggio Hitting Streak The most spectacular of all baseball records is Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak in 1941. (This photo was taken after DiMaggio tied the old record of 44 straight games with a hit set by Willie Keeler back in 1897.) No one has really seriously challenged it in all the years since. Depending on which mathematician you believe, DiMaggio's streak is supposedly safe for another 500 to 3,100 years!

Magic Bullet Theory Debunked In its investigation of John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination, the Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman. However, if you believe the Commission's findings, you have to believe Oswald, by himself, fired three shots from the Texas Schoolbook Depository in less than six seconds. The first shot missed, hitting a curbstone. The final shot was the fatal shot to Kennedy's head. The second shot must be a 'magic bullet' that caused multiple wounds to both JFK and Texas Governor John Connally. This report, from the A and E series Time Machine, debunks the ridiculous 'magic bullet' theory.
