The Fonzie Doll Does anyone remember these? I couldn't a Wiki Reference to this, But did find the picture. This kinda has some history for me growing up. My dad and a friend of his actually scheme on an idea for a Fonzie doll and a few months later it was a reality and they missed out on it. I guess someone beat them to it. Dad was so upset by it that he refused to get me one. That's my memory of the Fonzie Doll

FATHER KNOWS BEST Opening Father Knows Best was the classic wholesome family situation comedy. It was set in the typical Midwestern community of Springfield, where Jim Anderson was an agent for the General Insurance Company. Every evening he would come home from work, take off his sport jacket, put on his comfortable sweater, and deal with the everyday problems of a growing family. In contrast to most other family comedies of the period, in which one of the other parents was a blundering idiot, both Jim and his wife Margaret were portrayed as thoughtful, responsible adults. When a family crisis arose, Jim would calm the waters with a warm smile and some sensible advice. The show originally aired on radio in 1958. CBS debuted it in 1954, but it was cancelled after one year. NBC picked it up and put it in an earlier time slot, where the whole family could watch it. The show then ran successfully for the next five years and became a television classic.

Remember EDISON LIGHTHOUSE Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes, was #1 in the UK in Jan '70, and #5 in the US in February of '70. That smash hit proved to be so successful that Edison recorded other songs under other group names which duplicated the sensation of their first hit together. As White Plains, their single of My Baby Loves Lovin' reached #13 in the US and #9 in the UK. Under the name of The Brotherhood Of Man, their United We Stand reached #13 in the US and #1 in the UK in 1970. Whatever works!

Even Sex Kittens Grow Old Bridget Bardot has turned 73. Born September 28, 1934, she is a BAFTA Awards-nominated French actress, former fashion model, singer, known nationalist, animal rights activist, and considered the embodiment of the 1950s and 1960s sex kitten. In the 1970s after her retirement from the entertainment industry, Bardot established herself as an animal rights activist, which work she continues today. During the 1990s she was outspoken about her political views on such issues as immigration, Islam in France, miscegenation, and homosexuality. She is a sympathizer with the far right. So much for fantasies.

BARRY MANILOW Even Now Allright, everyone get your booing and hissing out, this is MY memory. I have loved this man's music since the 70's, and still do, even through his recent hip replacement. I guess we'll grow old together, with Barry singing and me sighing to his music.

Eric Clapton Live LAYLA The story behind the song goes something like this. In 1966, George Harrison married Pattie Boyd, a model he met during the filming of A Hard Day's Night. During the late 1960s, Clapton and Harrison became good friends. Clapton contributed guitar work on Harrison's song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on The Beatles' White Album but remained uncredited, and Harrison played guitar pseudonymously on Cream's "Badge" from Goodbye. However, trouble was brewing for Clapton. Besides his difficulty in keeping a band together and his growing heroin addiction, when Boyd came to him for aid during marital troubles, Clapton fell desperately in love with her. The title, "Layla", was inspired by the Persian love story, The Story of Layla, by the Persian classical poet Nezami. When he wrote "Layla", Clapton had recently been given a copy of the story by a friend who was in the process of converting to Islam. Nezami's tale, about a moon-princess who was married off by her father to someone other than the man who was desperately in love with her, resulting in his madness, struck a deep chord with Clapton. Boyd divorced Harrison in 1977 and married Clapton in 1979. Harrison was not bitter about the divorce and attended Clapton's wedding with Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. During their relationship, Clapton wrote another love ballad for her, "Wonderful Tonight." Clapton and Boyd divorced in 1989 after several years of separation.
