When I was 7 yrs old my grandmother (being a big fan) took me to see my first Kirk Douglas film, Man Without a Star, and he became my first hero. If you're also a fan, I hope this clip will bring back a lot of fond memories.

Michael Todd breezed into Elizabeth Taylor's life on June 23, 1956....and sadly breezed out just as quickly on March 22, 1958. But during their time together, they accumulated a lifetime worth of memories. They traveled all over the world promoting the Mike Todd spectacularly produced Oscar winning, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, as well as promoting Elizabeth's movie epics, GIANT and RAINTREE COUNTRY.
They married in Mexico in February 1957, days after Elizabeth obtained her divorce from second husband, Michael Wilding.
Mike's death devastated Elizabeth to the point of propelling her into a state of self destruction when she did not care if she lived or died. In fact, she had to come close to death (herself) before appreciating living again. Mike and Elizabeth's love story is a special one...and their time together was so very short but so very potent. Elizabeth, today, claims he was one of the great loves of her life ...

One of Hollywood's first truly tragic stories centered on the handsome and likable Wallace Ried. Reid was one of the silents screen's biggest stars from 1919 to 1922. Hailing from a showbiz family, he initially hoped to be a film director. At age 19 Reid took a script his father had written to Vitagraph Studios. The studio recognized Reid's potential as a sex symbol and cast him as an actor. The versatile Reid often worked as a director, writer, and even as a cameraman. He was featured in two of D.W. Griffith's epics: Birth of a Nation (1915) and Intolerance (1916). Reid also appeared as a dashing race car driver in several Famous Player films, becoming a major cinema heartthrob. While making The Valley of the Giants (1919), Reid was injured in a train wreck. The studio given morphine injections for the pain so he could continue working. Because Reid was so valuable, his studio kept providing him with more and more morphine so he could keep making movies. Reid quickly became deeply addicted but there was virtually no drug-addiction help in those days. By 1922, Reid's health was in tatters. He died on January 18, 1923 at age 31. His widow, Dorothy Davenport, made a film about drug addiction titled Human Wreckage and toured with it to raise national awareness of the dangers of morphine.

My obsession also as a kid.My race mate best friend still has thunderjet and AFX cars from our youth 20 or so. Some worth nearly $100 we paid 3-5 dollars for .We ordered parts from Scranton to change gearing ,rewind armatures, stronger magnets the works!I couldn't find a clearer vid.But I TOTALLY IDENTIFY!
