Old Hollywood Glamour Carole Landis was born on New Year's Day in 1919 and was primarily know as a B movie actress. Her busiest year ever turned out to be 1942, with roles in six films such as MANILA CALLING, THE POWERS GIRLS, and A GENTLE MAN AT HEART . . On July 5, 1948, Carole committed suicide on an overdose of Seconal in her Brentwood Heights, California home. She was only 29 and had made 49 motion pictures, unfortunately, mostly forgettable ones.

THE BLUES BROTHERS Trailer The Blues Brothers was a 1980 musical comedy. It starred John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues, characters taken from a Saturday Night Live sketch. It featured musical numbers by R&B and soul legends James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles, and had some great unforgettable car scenes.

GOODFELLAS Trailer The story of Irish-Italian American, Henry Hill, and how he lived his day to day life as a member of the Mafia. This film was actually based on the true story of Henry Hill, who was eventually placed in the witness protection program. Bobby DeNiro gave an awesome performance, as did Joe Peschi, in fact the entire cast gave a really believable performance of how it was being involved with La Familia back in the 50's and 60's. I sometimes forget that they were only acting. Everytime I watch this I find myself getting hungry, there are a couple of scenes where Henry is putting together a great Italian meal, and I don't think there's an Italian out there who's been able to sit and watch this without wishing for some pasta and sausage.

THE HAUNTING Trailer 1963 Forget any other horror film, or any other film about the supernatural you've ever seen, this will scare the c*** out of you, no joke. I was raised watching these types of films, with my mom, so I've seen them all, but this scared me to death. It's what you don't see that will get to you. And there were no special visual effects, like in so many other films of this type, it was all done with sound effects, relying on your imagination to finish the job. Shirley Jackson wrote the book, from which this was taken, in 1959, titled The Haunting of Hill House.

REMEMBERING GRACE KELLY Grace Patricia Kelly was born in Philadelphia on Nov 12, 1929. As a young child, Grace decided she wanted to become an actress, and studied acting (primarily theater) at the American Academy of Dramatic Art and worked as an actress and model in New York before moving to Hollywood. When she was in New York, Grace promoted Old Gold cigarettes and appeared on the covers of magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Redbook. Grace debuted in the film 14 Hours, in a minor supporting role, but then starred in High Noon, in which she was cast as a mousey Quaker bride. She then appeared in Mogambo with Clark Gable, which won her an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Her work in High Noon and a screen test for the film Taxi caught the attention of director Alfred Hitchcock, who molded Grace into his ideal of the elegant, beautiful blonde. She gave Hitchcock wonderful performances in Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, and To Catch a Thief. But Grace went against Hitchcock's vision of her for the film The Country Girl, which won her the Golden Globe and the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role of 1954. The success of the song in this clip, True Love, performed by Grace and Bing Crosby, is from the film High Society, which earned her a gold record. In 1956, she was voted the Golden Globe's World Film Favorite Female Actor. In 1956, she married Prince Rainier Grimaldi III of Monaco to become Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco. Because of her royalty, she was forced to give up her successful acting career, in which she made eleven films. She had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stephanie. Grace died on September 14, 1982, after her car went off a road on the cliffs of Monaco. Rest in peace Grace, we'll never forget you.
