During the 50's, there were so many biblical blockbusters produced, even though if you check in the bible, you'll discover that the facts have been changed for entertainment value. Still, Chuck made a great Moses, and no one can wear the costume of an Eqyptian pharoah like Yul. My first idol at the age of 10 was Chuck Heston. I sent him a letter and receivedd back, not only a note, but four autographed stills as well. Today this wouldn't happen.

211 Pine Street, Mayfield, the residence of the Cleaver family, Ward, an accountant, his wife June, and their children, Wally and Theodore (Beaver). Their stories relate to the experiences of Beaver Cleaver, who was 7 when the series began, and Wally who was 12. Beaver was a typically rambunctious little kid, more interested in pet frogs than in girls, but Wally, who was just entering his teens, was beginning to discover other things in life.

Lucy Ricardo - a "Paris Original"?
Episode 147, "Lucy Gets a Paris Gown", originally aired on March 19, 1956. The Ricardos and the Mertzes are thrilled to be in Paris. As a special treat for Lucy and Ethel, Ricky snags coveted tickets for a Jacques Marcel fashion show. Of course, after seeing the designer’s clothes, Lucy vows that she will have a Jacques Marcel dress. When pleading fails, Lucy goes on a hunger strike. Ricky breaks down and buys the dress, but then discovers that Ethel is sneaking food to Lucy. As revenge, Ricky and Fred design burlap potato sack dresses, complete with Jacques Marcel labels and a horse’s feedbag hat for Lucy. The French designer sees Lucy and Ethel wearing the dresses at a café and Ricky confesses. In a hilarious final twist, Jacques Marcel steals the designs -- but the girls have destroyed their originals!

Robert Wise, producer and director of such blockbuster films as The Sand Pebbles, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, The Hindenburg, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Run Silent, Run Deep, The Andromeda Strain, The Set-Up, The Haunting, and The Body Snatcher. Here is a clip from West Side Story, Officer Krumpke. I directed this scene as part of my final grade in my senior year drama class, and it was the first time I discovered the rush of creating something that people would enjoy. It was great! Excuse the subtitles, I guess some people can't understand Brooklynese.

She began her career as a model and was discovered for films by director Alfred Hitchcock, who saw her in a commerical and cast her in "The Birds" (1963; with Rod Taylor). "Marnie" (1964), a psychological thriller from the novel by Winston Graham, was Hedren's second Hitchcock assignment. Although Hitchcock continued to have Hedren in mind for several other films after "Marnie", the actress had become increasingly uncomfortable with his possessive manner and she declined any further work with him. Other directors who wanted to hire her had to go through Hitchcock, who would inform them she was unavailable. "It grew to be impossible. He was a very controlling type of person, and I guess I'm not about to be controlled", said Hedren, who bought out her contract. Ending their professional relationship on a sour note, she recalled, "He said, 'Well, I'll ruin your career.' And he did."
** Hedren's daughter is actress Melanie Griffith.**
also *** She was named Nathalie Hedren, but given the nikname Tippi as a baby by her Swedish father from the Swedish "Tupsa" which means sweetheart. ***

Best known for their work with Chic in the late '70s, siblings Debbie, Kim, Joni, and Kathy Sledge -- collectively Sister Sledge -- reached the height of their popularity during the disco era but had been recording since the early '70s and were still active in the late '90s. The group was formed in Philadelphia in 1971, when the sisters' ages ranged from 12 to 16, and they recorded their first single, "TIME WILL TELL," for the Philly-based Money Back label. (For the first few years, the group called itself Sisters Sledge.) In 1972, Sister Sledge signed with Atco and recorded its second single, "WEATHERMAN," which was followed by the Jackson 5-like "MAMA NEVER TOLD ME" in 1973... but i like this one, "WE ARE FAMILY," the best!!!
