Claudette Colbert here's a little TRIVIA about Claudette Colbert: she appeared in a couple of DeMille epics in the early thirties like SIGN OF THE CROSS and CLEOPATRA, and considered it a definite come-down when Paramount loaned her to Columbia to make her 25th movie, a little screwball comedy co-starring Clark Gable called IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT. She thought it was terrible before, during and after the filming and thought so little of her chances of winning an Oscar that she had to be summoned from a train station to pick up her Academy Award. . .

Sunset Boulevard 1950 Trailer to "Sunset Boulevard" directed by Billy Wilder, starring William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim, Cecil B. DeMille & Buster Keaton. Joe Gillis, an unsuccessful screenplay writer, escapes the finance men who are trying to reclaim his car by driving into the garage of an old mansion on Sunset Boulevard. Assumed to be someone else, he is led by Max the butler to the mansion's owner, silent film star Norma Desmond. Wishing to make a comeback, she hires him to rewrite her "Salome" script, then falls in love with him. Joe moves into the mansion as a kept man. Secretly, Joe is collaborating with a pretty young screenplay editor, Betty Schaefer, on another idea. Though she is engaged to his best friend, Artie Green, an assistant director, Betty falls in love with Joe. When Betty finds out about Norma, she asks him to leave Norma for her, but Joe can't unsettle her life, too. He decides, instead, to leave Hollywood. As he is leaving, a crazed Norma tries to stop him. I adore William Holden, he's simply gorgeous.

The Ten Commandments I had to post this, it was the film that gave me such inspiration into my religion, he was my hero. Chuck was Moses to a 10 yr old girl in 1956. Even though the producers took quite a bit of poetic license in the re-telling of this story, it has stayed with me to this day. I'm glad I was able to contact him and I learned alot about this man while he was still in his prime. I later watched him grow old and felt so bad as I saw his health fading, but he will always be an inspiration to me and I miss him.
