Cleft-chinned, steely-eyed, and ruggedly handsome, Kirk Douglas is a star of international cinema who rose from being "the ragman's son" (the name give to his best-selling 1988 autobiography) of Russian-Jewish ancestry to become a bona fide superstar. When I was 7 yrs old my grandmother (being a big fan) took me to see my first Kirk Douglas film, Man Without a Star, and he became my first hero. If you're also a fan, I hope this clip will bring back a lot of fond memories.

The trailer of Joseph Leo Mankiewicz's classic with Rex Harrison and the dazzlingly beautiful actress Gene Tierney....The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" gave its star, Gene Tierney, one of the best roles of her career, after "Laura". she had the fragility to portray Lucy Muir, the plucky young widow who decides to move to the coast against her in-laws wishes. The idea of the film plays well as it unfolds because obviously, what she is experiencing is all in her mind. Rex Harrison's Capt. Daniel Gregg was also one of his best opportunities as a leading man in the movies. He's perfect as the crusty old seaman that refuses to abandon his beloved home overlooking a beautiful view of the sea. Mr. Harrison plays well opposite Ms. Tierney; their chemistry works well because it combines his rugged good looks and her beauty.

Danny was born David Daniel Kaminsky in Brooklyn in 1913, the son of an immigrant Russian tailor. After dropping out of high school he worked for a radio station and later as a comedian in the Catskills. After his solo success in the Catskills, he joined the dancing act of Harvey and Young in 1933. On opening night he lost his balance and the audience broke into a roar of laughter. He would later incorporate this into his act. Enjoying growing popularity in 1939, Danny won over the Broadway crowd that same year with his show-stopping comic singing in "Lady in the Dark," in which he rattled off the names of more than fifty polysyllabic Russian composers in 39 seconds in a song called "Tchaikovsky." Throughout the early 1940's he performed night club acts, on Broadway, and to support the troops overseas during WWII. Though he appeared in his first film in 1937, it wasn’t until almost 10 years later that his film career hit its stride. Throughout his career he starred in seventeen movies, including THE KID FROM BROADWAY (1946), THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY (1947), THE INSPECTOR GENERAL (1949), HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN (1952), and the incomparable THE COURT JESTER (1956). In one of his final performances, he proved the versatility of his talent and earned rave reviews for his impassioned portrayal of a Holocaust survivor in the 1981 television movie SKOKIE. In 1987 Danny died of a heart attack in Los Angeles. An amazing actor, singer, dancer, comic, and all-around entertainer, he was a Renaissance man off the stage as well as on, where he was a celebrated chef, a baseball team owner, and an airplane pilot, flying everything from Piper Cubs to Boeing 747’s. His deep and continued commitment to the betterment of the people of the world was an inspiration, and his intelligent humor created a style all his own that made him one of the most beloved entertainers of his time. I love this song by Daniel Bedingfield. For anyone who recognizes his last name, he's the brother of pop singer Natasha Bedingfield. He and Natasha share the Guinness World Record for being the first and only siblings to have had solo number-ones in UK chart history.

The role of Dr.Smith was played by Jonathan Harris, who was born Jonathan Daniel Charasuchin, the son of a Russian Jewish immigrant, in The Bronx, New York, in 1914.
He changed his name from Charasuchin (a Russian name ), to "Harris" in 1932, at the age of 17.
He died in 2002, just before his 88th birthday.

Daniel Earl "Dan" Hartman (December 8, 1950 - March 22, 1994) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer best known for the 1984 song "I Can Dream About You". In 1978 Hartman reached number-one on the Dance Charts with the single, "Instant Replay" (#29 on the Billboard Hot 100).
