Because of its success in the United Kingdom, the series has become one of the most enduring in Australian television history. The series was produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation and ran on Network Ten for 692 episodes from 1979 to 1986. i myself used to laugh at the ever moving, wobbly cardboard walls.

FATHER KNOWS BEST Opening Father Knows Best was the classic wholesome family situation comedy. It was set in the typical Midwestern community of Springfield, where Jim Anderson was an agent for the General Insurance Company. Every evening he would come home from work, take off his sport jacket, put on his comfortable sweater, and deal with the everyday problems of a growing family. In contrast to most other family comedies of the period, in which one of the other parents was a blundering idiot, both Jim and his wife Margaret were portrayed as thoughtful, responsible adults. When a family crisis arose, Jim would calm the waters with a warm smile and some sensible advice. The show originally aired on radio in 1958. CBS debuted it in 1954, but it was cancelled after one year. NBC picked it up and put it in an earlier time slot, where the whole family could watch it. The show then ran successfully for the next five years and became a television classic.

A 21st Century Twist on Propaganda Posters I got a good laugh out of this one. Notice the sinister look and the fingernails on the Commie that looks like Joseph Stalin. Don't pirate MP3s or else the Commies will come and take away your cell phones, Salad Shooters and Microwave Ovens!

KOLCHAK THE NIGHT STALKER Opening Network series that ran from 1974-1975. Carl Kolchak, played so well by Darren McGavin, was a reporter for Chicago's Independent News Service, and a magnet for situations involving the supernatural. He turned his investigative skills to vampires, werewolves, zombies and all kinds of legendary creatures, but in the end he always failed to convince his skeptical editor, Tony Vincenzo, played by Simon Oakland, that the stories weren't just products of his own overworked imagination. I was so faithful to this show, and was so disappointed when they cancelled it.

1931 Bela Lugosi Movie Poster Lugosi, the youngest of four children, was born Béla Ferenc Dezső Blaskó' in Lugos, Hungary on October 20, 1882. On arrival in America, the 6-feet-1 inch, 180 lb. Lugosi worked for some time as a laborer, then returned to the theater within the Hungarian-American community. He was approached to star in a play adapted by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. The Horace Liveright production was successful. Despite his excellent notices in the title role, and appearances in some American silent films, Lugosi had to campaign vigorously for the chance to repeat his stage success in Tod Browning's movie version of Dracula (1931), produced by Universal Pictures.

SOPHIA LOREN Still a Sex Symbol at 72 Born Sofia Villani Scicolone, in Rome Italy on September 20, 1934. An illegitimate child from a poor home in Naples, she became a teenage beauty queen and model. Her film debut was as an extra. She came under contract to film producer Carlo Ponti, later her husband, and blossomed as an actress. An international career followed and she won an Oscar for La Ciociara, (1961, translation Two Women). Frequently appearing with Marcello Mastroianni, her many films include The Millionairess (1961) and Marriage Italian Style (1964). In 1979 she published Sophia Loren: Living and Loving (with A E Hotchner) which was filmed for television as Sophia Loren: Her Own Story (1980), in which she played herself and her mother. She received an honorary Academy Award in 1991. How she stays so gorgeous is anyone's guess, but being Sicilian myself, I would be willing to bet there's something in the olive oil, no kidding. In any case, I better get me a few barrels of it lol

The Irish Beauty Maureen OHara Maureen O'Hara was born Maureen FitzSimons on August 17, 1920, in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. She loved playing rough athletic games as a child and excelled in sports. She combined this interest with an equally natural gift for performing. Charles Laughton, after seeing a screen test of Maureen, became mesmerized by her hauntingly beautiful eyes. Before casting her to star in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton and his partner, Erich Pommer, changed her name from Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" - a bit shorter last name for the marquee. In her career Maureen starred with some of Hollywood's most dashing leading men, including Tyrone Power, John Payne, Rex Harrison, James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Brian Keith, Sir Alec Guinness and, of course, her famed pairings with "The Duke" himself, John Wayne. She starred in five films with Wayne, the most beloved being The Quiet Man (1952). Maureen O'Hara is still absolutely stunning, with that trademark red hair, dazzling smile and those huge, expressive eyes. She has fans from all over the world of all ages who are utterly devoted to her legacy of films and her persona as a strong, courageous and intelligent woman. Maureen has a list of all-time classics to her credit that include "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", How Green Was My Valley (1941), Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Sitting Pretty (1948), The Quiet Man (1952), The Parent Trap (1961) and McLintock! (1963). Add to this the distinction of being voted one of the five most beautiful women in the world and you have a film star who was as gorgeous as she was talented.
