Babe Ruth Cameo in Speedy The 1928 silent comedy, Speedy, starring Harold Lloyd has an extended cameo appearance by Babe Ruth. In this scene Lloyd plays a baseball-loving cab driver who picks up Ruth as his first fare. If you look very, very quickly at 3:43 you can spot Lou Gehrig walking past Lloyd's taxi!

Elizabeth Montgomery Bewitching Elizabeth Montgomery was the daughter of silver-screen actor Robert Montgomery, and got her start on his TV show ROBERT MONTGOMERY PRESENTS. After marrying second husband Gig Young in 1956, Montgomery shied away from films but made numerous appearances on popular TV shows. Upon their 1963 divorce, Montgomery returned to making films, but third husband William Asher cast her as "Samantha" on the 1964-72 ABC-TV series BEWITCHED. If you look fast, you can see her in a cameo role in the 1965 beach party flick HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI, at the end of the film. After ending BEWITCHED, Asher and Montgomery divorced; she then went on to make many TV movies and married her sometime costar, Robert Foxworth. Sadly, Montgomery passed away at the age of 62 in 1995...this early glamour shot of "Sam" blows me away . . not the way i am used to seeing her!

Kim Novak the Lavender Blonde Kim Novak was born Marilyn Pauline Novak in Chicago, Illinois. She is perhaps best known for her performance in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958). Her films include The French Line (1954) Pushover (1954) Phffft! (1954) Son of Sinbad (1955) 5 Against the House (1955) Picnic (1955) The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) The Eddy Duchin Story (1956) Jeanne Eagels (1957) Pal Joey (1957) Vertigo (1958) Bell, Book and Candle (1958) Middle of the Night (1959) Strangers When We Meet (1960) Pepe (1960) (Cameo) The Notorious Landlady (1962) Boys' Night Out (1962) Showman (1963) (documentary) Of Human Bondage (1964) Kiss Me, Stupid (1964) The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders (1965) The Legend of Lylah Clare (1968) The Great Bank Robbery (1969) The White Buffalo (1977) Just a Gigolo (1979) The Mirror Crack'd (1980) I Have Been Very Pleased (1987) (short subject) The Children (1990) Liebestraum (1991) She has always been one of my favorite actresses and I think she's one of the most underrated and overlooked actresses of her generation. Kim Novak was a unique phenomenon. As the last of the "manufactured" screen goddesses and Columbia's answer to Marilyn Monroe, Kim had a more refined sex appeal than the other blond goddesses of the 1950's. She radiated a kind of mystery that harked back to the days of Garbo and Dietrich. Onscreen Kim Novak seems distant, enigmatic, thoughtful and somehow sad. She has been referred to as the reluctant goddess, the melancholy blonde and the lavender blonde. The studio created the idea that lavender was Kim Novak's favorite color as part of her movie star image. However, I think the term Lavender Blonde fits Kim Novak - it sets her apart from the sunny Doris Day or the gilded Marilyn Monroe. Lavender is closer to blue - makes you think of Madeleine in Vertigo, lost in thought by the seashore.

Dear Brigitte - Cameo Appearance Dear Brigitte was a 1965 family comedy movie starring James Stewart and Billy Mumy. Stewart plays slightly absent-minded poet/poetry professor Robert Leaf, a man who has no love for anything scientific. His eight-year-old son Erasmus (Mumy) is the opposite of his father--a math prodigy with little talent for anything artistic. Erasmus, apparently more worldly than the average eight-year-old, is obsessed with French movie star Brigitte Bardot. He spends every cent he can acquiring airmail stamps so he can write fan letters to her. (At one point in the film, two college students enlist Erasmus's expertise in math to win at the race track. They pay him for his services in postage stamps!) This is the climactic scene where Erasmus gets to meet Bardot in France.

John Wayne on The Beverly Hillbillies This is the last couple of minutes from my favorite episode of The Beverly Hillbillies (The Indians Are Coming). It's political incorrectness at its best! Granny learns that a native tribe has a territorial dispute with the Clampett land claim back in Tennessee. She expects the worst and assumes the 'Injuns' will soon be attacking. In order to prevent the Clampetts from going back to Tennessee to fight the Injuns, Mr. Drysdale arranges for some Hollywood stuntmen to simulate an Injun attack on the Clampett home in Beverly Hills! Throughout the episode Granny wishes John Wayne were present to help fight the Injuns. He shows up at the very end in a brief cameo appearance.

Eddie Haskell Today Ken Osmond aka Eddie Haskell from Leave It To Beaver fame. Ken and his brother founded a charter helicopter company, and he later spent 18 years as a Los Angeles police officer. After sustaining multiple gunshot wounds during an attempted arrest, Osmond had to retire. In 1983, he returned to acting and Eddie Haskell, in The New Leave It to Beaver. The show ran until 1989 and featured his real sons, Eric and Christian Osmond, playing Eddie's sons Freddie and Boomer. In 1997, Osmond again showed up as Eddie in a cameo role in the feature-film version of Leave It to Beaver. Thanks for inspiring me to post this Teresa!
