Fool On The Hill 1990 Getback Concert Tommy7's Beatles clips got me to thinking about one of my favorite songs, Paul's 'Fool on the Hill', that was recorded in 1967. This clip was taken from the 1990 'Getback' Concert. It's funny how there was always talk about exactly what some of these songs meant. With this song, Paul stated that he 'was writing about someone like Maharishi' - a person who is called a fool by many but is in fact wise. In Alistair Taylor's book, 'Yesterday', Taylor wrote about a mysterious incident involving a man who inexplicably appeared near him and Paul during a walk on Primrose Hill, and then disappeared again, soon after they had conversed about the existence of God. This allegedly prompted the writing of the song.

New York City Bike Messengers I only put this up for people that went to NYC to jar their memory. When they crossed the street, they stopped to let by, what they thought was some nut ready to hit them. 1st way to spot a tourist, and afterwards they probally saw something they thought wasn't possible on a bike!Because you threw their timing off. When in fact they have your walking pace timed for an opening between your legs if they could fit!My heroes! In my early 20's I road raced hoping for a career, found out I was average. In my late 20's I lived across the river in Bayonne took my bike over on the commuter ferry for a job interview for messenger. So before I went I fueled up (too much) to "show em' my stuff!" Never made it;Good thing because you need total focus and concentration.Besides playing & listining to music and riding like this. Nothing has given me this rush of adrenaline and dopamine.A silver medal in the olympics was won by a messenger, they mainly use track bikes with no brakes, hold on to cabs, cabbies don't mind. For that slingshot effect. And when I found out in the 80's they could make as much as $800.00 a wk. I hopped on the ferry.

Featured Member- Steve I was born a poor black boyÖ..I always wanted to use that in a bio! Can anyone tell us what movie that is a quote from and why it is funny? So many of you are clamoring for my bio so you have to give the public what they want! I was born into a military family so we moved around a lot as young kids, fortunately I had four brothers .We were hardly ever indoors playing with our Man From Uncle toy sets, our play guns, trucks and of course our bikes. I love coming across a posting from our members that stir up the memories from childhood like you Iím sure! I remember the theme to Perry Mason as I was just getting settled for bed, or someone posting a movie that just mom and I watched together, or the memories from high school from a song I had forgotten. After high school I entered the U.S. Navy and served onboard the U.S.S. America (CV-66). After four years with the Navy I worked for the cable company as an installer and left being a line technician within 4 years. I then started my own video production company. Iíve also worked and trained as a professional photographer so those two trades kept me busy until the economy tanked. I currently freelance for the local TV news and look to expand this with other stations and I also am starting a new website for brides, Iíll let you know when this launches. I am married to TerryAnn and we have a 14 year old son Alex and a daughter Catie who is 7 going on 17. We also have two cats named Sonny and Cher (of course!). I started YRTwhen I was frustrated with not find much memorabilia on the internet. Iím sure most of the clips on YRT is on YouTube, but you have to know what you are looking for and often times you have to be very specific in your search. So YRT is all the memories growing up under one roof! I love it when a member posts something I would never think of, itís like seeing an old friend again. Speaking of friends, thatís what makes this site so special, making friends with the members around the world!

Roy Orbison In Dreams 1963 "In Dreams" is a song composed and sung by American rock and roll performer, Roy Orbison. An operatic ballad of lost love, it was released as a 45rpm single on Monument Records in February 1963. The song's opening line refers to "A candy-colored clown they call the Sandman". The Sandman is a character in Hans Christian Andersen's children stories who brings sleep and dreams by sprinkling magic sand onto the sleeping. It became the title track on the album In Dreams, released July 1963, and also appears on his 1989 posthumous album A Black & White Night Live from the 1988 HBO television special. "In Dreams" was used famously in an infamous whorehouse scene in David Lynch's Blue Velvet (1986). An effeminate drug dealer, played by Dean Stockwell, lip synchs the song at the insistence of a sadistic criminal played by Dennis Hopper. Later, Hopper's character utters the lines "In dreams I talk to you... in dreams you're MINE - all the time!" as he threatens Kyle Maclachlan's character. The song also appeared in and provided the title for Neil Jordan's 1999 psychological thriller In Dreams. If the structure of a standard pop song is ABABCAB (verse-chorus, verse-chorus, bridge, verse-chorus), then the structure of "In Dreams" is ABCDE: the lyrics "A candy-colored clown," "I close my eyes," "In dreams I walk with you," "But just before the dawn," and "It's too bad that all these things" all introduce sections of new musical material that are not repeated. In 1988, songwriters Will Jennings and Richard Kerr wrote a response to "In Dreams", called "In The Real World", which Orbison recorded for his 1989 album Mystery Girl. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine named "In Dreams" as one of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Unassisted Triple Play This is the rarest feat in baseball: On May 12, 2008, second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera of the Cleveland Indians makes an unassisted triple play against the Toronto Blue Jays. It was only the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history. A Cleveland player had not achieved this feat in the regular season since 1909.
