Mike Curtis Tribute This is a tribute to Mike Curtis of the Baltimore Colts--one of the most intense players ever to appear on an NFL field. It contains the famous clip of Curtis flattening a dunken fan who attempted to run off with the ball between plays of a Colts-Dolphins game in 1971.

Wrong Way Riegels One of college football's greatest blunders occurred during the 1929 Rose Bowl game between California and Georgia Tech. Cal player Roy Riegels picked up a Georgia Tech fumble--and scampered 65 yards in the wrong direction! He was chased down by his own teammates, turned around inside his own five-yard line, and gang-tackled by a wave of Tech players. Cal punted on the next play, but the punt was blocked through the end zone for a safety. The two points proved to be the difference in Georgia Tech's 8-7 victory. Riegels was known as Wrong-Way Riegels for the rest of his life.

Notre Dame Four Horsemen 1924 Notre Dame defeated Army 13-7 in a college football game on October 18, 1924. Grantland Rice of the New York Herald-Tribune began his eloquent report this way: 'Outlined against a blue-grey October sky, the Four Horsemen rode again. In dramatic lore they are known as famine, pestilence, destruction and death. These are only aliases. Their real names are Stuhldreher, Miller, Crowley and Layden. They formed the crest of the South Bend cyclone before which another fighting Army team was swept over the precipice at the Polo Grounds this afternoon as 55,000 spectators peered down upon the bewildering panorama spread out upon the green plain below.' Rice's article was terrific, but what really made Notre Dame's Four Horsemen famous was this photograph. Once the victorious Irish arrived back on campus, team publicity man George Strickler posed Harry Stuhldreher, Don Miller, Jim Crowley, and Elmer Layden atop horses borrowed from a local livery stable. The photograph was widely circulated and Notre Dame's 1924 backfield became legendary.

Death of Len Bias Len Bias should have been one of basketball's greatest players. Instead, he became a poster boy for everything that was wrong with big-time sports. The athletic Bias was a star player at the University of Maryland. On June 17, 1986, the 22-year-old Bias was drafted second overall by the NBA champion Boston Celtics. Forty hours later he was dead from a cocaine overdose. Bias' death had a ripple effect. The Celtics were planning to rebuild their aging team around Bias, but instead Boston did not win another NBA championship until 2008. The basketball program at University of Maryland was thrown into turmoil after it was discovered that Bias' drug use was well known and he was 21 credits short of graduating despite using up all his academic eligibilty. Maryland's coach and athletic director were terminated that October for engaging in coverups that allowed Bias' habitual drug use and weak academic performance to go unchecked.

The very beautiful blonde girl "Sheila" who is doing the solo at the beginning of the third number is Jennifer Warnes.

Legal ID for WTCN TV Minneapolis St. Paul Nothing screams 1970s like this legal ID for WTCN-TV, Channel 11 in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Channel 11 is still around, but they changed their call letters to WUSA in 1985 and then to KARE in 1986. This ID ran from about 1971 to 1978.

All The Young Dudes written by David Bowie "Well Billy rapped all night about his suicide How he'd kick it in the head when he was 25. Speed jive. Don't wanna stay alive when you're 25. The television man is crazy Saying we're juvenile delinquent wrecks. I need T.V. when I got T-Rex. Oh brother, you guessed, I'm a dude now. Lisa Stansfield This is the right time She is probably best known for her first UK number-one single, "All Around the World" (1989), which also peaked at number three in the United States Billboard Hot 100 the following year. Other worldwide hits from her solo debut album Affection include "This Is the Right Time" (featuring a house music-styled production by Coldcut with Mark Saunders)
