GOODFELLAS Trailer The story of Irish-Italian American, Henry Hill, and how he lived his day to day life as a member of the Mafia. This film was actually based on the true story of Henry Hill, who was eventually placed in the witness protection program. Bobby DeNiro gave an awesome performance, as did Joe Peschi, in fact the entire cast gave a really believable performance of how it was being involved with La Familia back in the 50's and 60's. I sometimes forget that they were only acting. Everytime I watch this I find myself getting hungry, there are a couple of scenes where Henry is putting together a great Italian meal, and I don't think there's an Italian out there who's been able to sit and watch this without wishing for some pasta and sausage.

Petticoat Junction theme Petticoat Junction had one of the most recognizable TV themes ever. This is the opening from the first season (1963-64). Petticoat Junction enjoyed its best ratings during that first season and was a staple of the CBS lineup. The show suffered greatly after Bea Benaderet died in 1968 and last aired in September 1970. The black-and-white shows from the first two seasons were never put into syndication. I would have stayed at the Shady Rest Hotel just for the scenery. The scenery's names were Billie Jo, Bobby Jo and Betty Jo.

Bobby Vee The Night Has a Thousand Eyes DID WE REALLY LOOK LIKE THAT WHEN WE DANCED?? One of the longest lasting of the teen idols of the early 60's, Bobby Vee got his lucky break when he and and his band the Shadows filled in for the late Buddy Holly at a 1959 Mason City, Iowa, concert a few days after Holly was killed in a plane crash. His 1961 summer release Take Good Care of My Baby went to #1 on the Billboard U.S. He went on to record a string of international hits in the 1960s, including Devil or Angel, Rubber Ball (1961), More Than I Can Say (1961), Run To Him (1961), The Night Has a Thousand Eyes (1963), and Come Back When You Grow Up (1967). Bobby Vee currently performs at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater in Branson, Missouri. He performs in the "Original Stars of American Bandstand" show along with Fabian, Chris Montez, Brian Hyland, and the Chiffons. His sons Tommy and Jeff both perform in the show with him. When I look at him now I realize how very young he was at the time.

Whitney Houston Live I Will Always Love You An awesome performance of "I Will Always Love You", (from the 1992 film The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner) at Divas 1999. Whitney Houston was one of a few black artists to receive heavy rotation on MTV in the 1980's during a male rock dominated time, in the network's early years. AOL Black Voices said "Though her success seemed like a lightening rod, it was always validated by Whitney's polished and powerful vocal abilities - making her known as "The Voice". After marrying R&B singer Bobby Brown at the height of her career, rumors of drug and spousal abuse led to a decline in her album sales and her public image. Her personal troubles were talked about more than any of her music, and she regularly appeared in the tabloid press. Houston began looking and sounding less like the singer people came to know and she stopped making public appearances. She underwent two drug rehab programs in 2005 and 2006. After a successful second program in 2006, she divorced Bobby Brown and gained custody of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina. She has since been working on her 7th studio album with music mogul and close friend and mentor Clive Davis.

Domenico Modugno Volare This is for all the Italians on YRT, as well as anyone else who enjoyed this song back in 1958. This song was presented by Domenico Modugno and Johnny Dorelli at the 1958 Sanremo Music Festival, winning the contest and achieving instant popularity. It was then chosen to represent Italy in the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest. The song has been covered dozens of times over the years. Versions were quickly recorded after the initial success - partly in English, partly in Italian - by The McGuire Sisters and Dean Martin. Bobby Rydell had a top-ten hit with it in the summer of 1960.
