Lucy and Desi although this pic didn't come from the I LOVE LUCY show (it's obviously a publicity shot) i still like it a lot. And now, a little "I LOVE LUCY" TRIVIA: *It was the first to tape before a live audience. *Fred and Ethel's bickering relationship didn't require much acting; in real life Vivian Vance and William Frawley didn't care for each other at all. *Did you know that the original names for the Ricardos would have been Lucy and Larry Lopez? In the lost pilot episode, the voiceover says "You are about to see the pilot episode of the show that was almost I Love Lopez." *In the episode entitled "Lucy is Enceinte". .if you look carefully at the beginning, Lucy is reading McCall's Magazine, and "I LOVE LUCY" is on the cover.

I Love Lucy Premieres October 15th 1951 Here's just some of the interesting trivia surrounding this legendary show. Benaderet and Gale Gordon were Lucy and Desi's first choice to play the Mertzes. Gale Gordon was the first choice to play Fred Mertz, but he was unavailable. When they came across William Frawley, Desi Arnaz wanted him, but he was told that Frawley would be a poor choice because he was a womanizer, a gambler, and a drunk. Arnaz said, "He's perfect!" Desi Arnaz invented the rerun during the pregnancy episodes of this series by re-airing some episodes from the first season to give Lucy some rest. When Lucy was pregnant with Little Ricky, network censors wouldn't permit her to say "pregnant." She had to say "expectant". The full names of Fred and Ethel are Fredrick Hobart Mertz and Ethel Louise Roberta Mae Potter Mertz Because of limited space on the sound stage, the Ricardo's bedroom and the Mertz's living room is the same set with different furniture. Desi Arnaz Jr. appears in the final first-run episode of the series. Although his sister, Lucie Arnaz, for some reason, doesn't. The Ricardos' address was 623 E. 68th Street. However, E. 68th Street in Manhattan only goes up to 600 - which means that the Ricardos' building was in the middle of the East River. Three "flashback" episodes were shown during the period when Lucille Ball was recovering after giving birth to Desi Arnaz Jr.. These episodes were filmed in advance after Ball found out she was pregnant. Although they slept in twin beds throughout the entire run of the series, during the first two seasons of the show, 1951-1953, Ricky and Lucy slept in twin beds that were pushed together in the same box spring. Once little Ricky was born CBS suggested that the beds be pushed apart to diminish the impact of the suggested sexual history of Lucy and Ricky. The only time we see the Ricardo's in two bed pushed together again is when they first move to the bigger apartment in the Mertz building, however, subsequently after that the beds are pushed apart again.

60s Ad For Royal Crown Cola With Teen Idols Dino Desi and Billy Here's the story behind that group now known as Ricci, Desi and Billy. Ricci Martin, Desi Arnaz Jr. and Billy Hinsche were old friends, who grew up together in Beverly Hills, California. Their common bond was the music they made. Ricci, Desi & Billy is their newly formed musical group featuring original material as well as the songs of 60's musical teen sensations Dino, Desi & Billy (Desi & Billy's former group). Though this is a new configuration of the original band, the last names remain the same - Martin, Arnaz and Hinsche. The idea for this group came at a benefit for the late Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys, which was held at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. Desi and Billy performed a song which Desi had written called "My Old friend" in honor of their friend and partner Dean Paul Martin (Dino) who died in a plane crash while flying for the California National Guard in 1987. Ricci performed his hit single, "Stop, Look Around" from his critically acclaimed album "Beached", co-produced by Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche. There was such a powerful, magical feeling that night, that Ricci, Desi and Billy decided to form a trio.

Lucy and Desi The Long Long Trailer I've looked all over for this scene and finally found it. Made in 1954, Nicky (Arnaz) and Tacy Collini (Ball) are going to be married. Nicky wants to save up money for a house, but Tacy dreams of starting off with their own home on wheels...a trailer. After the two are hitched, they hitch up their trailer and begin their honeymoon. The humor comes from several disastrous adventures they have while traveling, including Tacy's awkward attempt to cook dinner in a moving trailer, and a cliffhanging ride through the mountains that nearly destroys their marriage. Lucy was perfect as usual, and I die laughing every time I watch this.

Donny Osmond on Heres Lucy From 1972, teenage heartthrob Donny Osmond performs 'Too Young' on Here's Lucy. He's singing it to...Eve Plumb of The Brady Bunch? In this episode Eve plays an ill girl whose desire is to meet Donny Osmond. Lucy arranges it, somehow. Of course Donny instead falls for Lucy's daughter, Kim (Lucy Arnaz). Geez, how did I miss this one when it first aired?

More Donny Osmond on Heres Lucy The earlier post I made of Donny Osmond on Here's Lucy seemed to go over well, so here's another from that same 1972 episode (titled Lucy and Donny Osmond): Donny and Lucy Arnaz perform a duet of 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again.'
