This clip was made for an incomplete movie that was supposed to come out in 1976 called "Acapulco Gold". Sometime during the production, there were financial difficulties. This is all there is to be seen of the animated feature.
Arnie Wong created the nostalgic visual presence to the short animated piece.
The song is performed by Rainy Daze. "Acapulco Gold" was the name of their only album in 1967.
This is from the John Lamb Film Collection.
This short has rarely been seen.

Here is an updated trailer for children of all ages. Bambi will be 65 years old today, August 13th. I don't think any other Disney film was quite as dear to my heart as this one.

Disney's first live-action movie mixed in animated scenes to tell the stories of kindly ol Uncle Remus, including the tales of Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear … and the Tar Baby. The movie, which had faced accusations that it promoted racial stereotypes and the idea of the slave-slavemaster relationship in a positive light, won a 1947 Best Song Oscar for the song on this clip, Zip a Dee Doo Dah, and was a major cultural force in its day. But it's been on the shelves for half a century and has never been released on home video in the U.S. because of Disney's concerns that depictions in the film viewed in today's world, might not be viewed as kindly or as politically correct. However the studio is currently mulling over the idea of DVD release as soon as 2008. In my opinion, this is a film that made millions of children happy. It was adults who put an end to that. I hope you'll enjoy this with the same sentiments as in which it was posted.

Ub Iwerks the man behind Mickey Mouse. Left Disney and started his own company in the early 30's. His cartoons show a style and sense of humor and technical innovation that set him apart as one of the founding fathers of animation.

This video starts with a very brief history and description of the dolls, Beautiful Chrissy and Velvet which were part of a line of growing-hair dolls that were released by the Ideal Toy Corporation. THIS is a stop-motion animation of how their hair could go from long to short to long without using scissors, wigs, or hair extensions.

Introduction to classic movie program that ran Mondays to Fridays in the 1970s and 1980s on Canadian television.
The host was a movie fanatic who spoke about unknown details from Hollywood's Golden Age. His name was Elwy Yost. The memorable song is sung by Harry Forbes.
This video was provided by Tobias Vaughn's collection.

This is 'real' stop-animation before it got destroyed by modern quickening technology.
Videocraft International, Ltd, this 1960s animation company made all those classic Christmas Rankin/Bass specials using the same animation process, the method that was used for years on many, many productions. You all know the show Gumby, and the traditional religious show, Davey and Goliath, well, you can see both used the same animated method. Yes, the company switched names in the 1970s.
