Another police drama of the 70's, starring Angie Dickinson and Earl Holliman.
How many of you remember Earl Holliman as Sundance in the CBS western series Hotel DeParee in the very early 60's.

This was a decent enough 70's sitcom, that aired on Thursdays at 8:30pm on ABC, starring Donna Pescow, Robert Hayes, and Doris Roberts. Even back then Doris was cast as the opinionated, outspoken Italian mother, who spent most of her time in the kitchen cooking pasta. Of course, her character was molded from real life because most Italian mothers are exactly like this. Ahhh, some things never change.

This was one of many openings that ABC used for their Movie Of The Week. There was a Tuesday Movie of the Week and a Wednesday Movie of the Week. There was also a generic one, this one. It simply said World Premiere.
The music is based on a Burt Bacharach song called "Nikki". It was written for his daughter back in 1966. Sadly, Nikki passed away recently.
Nikki's mom was Angie Dickinson.

Hello People!
Remember this big hit on the radio by the talented artist? Maybe, just maybe, you heard this almost a hundred times back then.
Even if you haven't heard it since, you'll recognize it immediately.
The 45 single is generally considered a seventies pop classic.
Did you know the keyboardist originally came from a film score background?
The composer had written "Angie Baby" in 1974 previous to this. That cool tune was sung by Helen Reddy. Another number one hit!
He also had a tune sung by the Righteous Brothers.
Are you familiar with "Rock 'n' Roll Heaven"?
He is as well a composer for Anne Murray and superstar Cher.
He did write tunes for well-known performers, but now, he is still active in the business with various projects.
Alan has written songs for major film and television companies that you may not be aware of as well.
U A went right to the top of the pop radio charts in 1977. As a 45 radio single, it was considerably shorter than from the album version.
Today, the composer still releases albums and performs for this fans.
Released mid-winter of 1977, the tune went up the chart slowly, reaching the top position on the album and pop chart. Hey, how about that, you learn something new every week with Mister *E*. Remember, this "oldschool" stuff is in with me on YRT. Verrrry cool.
