In a 1982 Tonight Show skit reminiscent of the old Abbott and Costello 'Who's On First?' routine, Johnny Carson plays a befuddled Ronald Reagan being briefed by Jim Baker.

This Saturday cartoon series was broadcast from 1966 to the early 1970s in reruns, basically shown for kids staying home to see their favorite shows at the time. Here we have straight man Bud Abbott and Stan Irwin as loud screamer Lou Costello in animated form. The real Lou Costello had passed prior to the renewed revival of the motion picture comedy team. From the 1940s to mid 50s, Lou and Bud both appeared in films and an evening television. But with the big dollar success came much business arguing with the two alongside each other. This was one of a few problems with the comedians lives off camera.
Both Bud Abbott and Lou Costello enjoyed star popularity in the 1940s, right to the mid 1950s as an act together. They made more money than most other actors at the time. Unfortunately, their radio show, and evening TV show they had made together were often repeated. This goes for their re-released movies too.
Within a short time their audiences on televison got what we known as the eventual syndicated rerun. This proved to be their downfall when they were both seen routinely together on screens. The public simply saw too much of the team. This proved to be a career mistake for both. Until the year of 1956, Lou Costello and Bud Abbott made 36 movies with various situations, which gave them a reputation as being number one for moviegoers of all ages.
After Costello passed on suddenly, Bud Abbott was asked to voice this cartoon show in hopes of reviving his own career and bank account. Bud soon retired after the demise of the 1966 animated series.
