Tufty Tufty the squirrel was a 60's & early 70's public information films to teach children the dangers of the roads. These were shown on TV and in the cinemas. There was also a Tufty club which as a child, I was a member of, which entitled you to wear a Tufty badge and receive monthly magazines with all of Tufty's stories. Later replaced by the Green Cross Man, played by the actor who portrayed Darth Vader In the first three Star Wars films, Dave Prowse.

Bloody Wednesday "Overshadowing September 11, 2001, another September day 139 years earlier remains the bloodiest single day in American history. On September 17, 1862, there were more than twice the number of fatalities that were suffered in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon . The number of casualties at Antietam was four times greater than American casualties at Normandy. more American soldiers died at Sharspburg (The Confederate name for the battle) than died in combat in all the other wars fought by this country in the nineteenth century combined:" — James McPherson, historian This day has come to be remembered as Bloody Wednesday Bloody Wednesday Sharpsburg - September 17, 1862 Photos .. A Pittance of Time November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada. It is the anniversary of the date in 1918 when the Armistice was signed that ended the First World War. It is a solemn occasion. It is customary for Canadians to pause for two minutes at 11 a.m. to remember those who died in the two world wars, in Korea, and in later conflicts. This video is based on a true incident observed by singer/songwriter Terry Kelly on November 11, 1999. He was in a Nova Scotia drug store that morning. At 11 a.m. everyone in the store paused for two minutes of silence--except for one oblivious man who had a young daughter with him. Kelly channelled his anger into this touching song, A Pittance of Time.
