Earlier I posted a clip from a 1995 Barbara Walters interview with Monica Seles in which Seles discussed the enduring psychological effects of being stabbed on court by a deranged tennis fan. This haunting Sports Illustrated cover photo from 1993 shows a shocked Seles moments after the stabbing.

You remember this song from Walter Egan, don't you?
Back in summer 1978, this single was played over the radio daily. "Magnet and Steel" was co-produced by Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks does some background vocals for the song "Magnet and Steel," among other ones recorded with Walter Egan.
If you saw the late 1990's movie 'Boogie Nights,' you may of heard "Magnet and Steel" in it. Stevie Nicks was the inspiration for this. Walter was really into her at the time.

During the summer of 1978, movie audiences were surprised to see this Bruce Dern, Ryan O'Neal flick.
Why? It was a cool action flick from director Walter Hill.
This movie soon became the inspiration for other action films that followed. Steve Mc Queen was supposed to star in this film.
"The Driver" actually had so much action in it, later it was actually edited out of the finished film.
This is a streetworthy car film.

How many recall April 1980, just prior to the scheduled 52 annual golden man trophies?
It was the last of its kind, just before "talkative" Walters celebrity interviews became the rage. Incidently, "Kramer vs. Kramer" was the winner of the night.
For many, it was an incredibly rememorable night, unlike any other then, as many people were talking about it all-morning the next day.
Does that happen now? Gathering together, you would've seen Peaches and Herb, A.Gibb, and G. Kelly, being entertaining in a movie-land setting. Around that time, Olivia and Kelly were about to come out with a hyped flick. Also that night, you would've glimpsed Carpenter, Richard, and Turner. Not enough? Well, there was D.Clark, the ever popular weatherman, T. Knight, and Mister John, Mrs. Tennille, all caught up together in a one-time-only event that is still remembered today.
Very cool.
