Jughead does hip-hop Sugar Sugar The good old days are here again...-Return to Riverdale when Jughead Jones of the Archies does an odd hip-hop rap version of "Sugar Sugar" in this TV clip. (The Archies become real-life characters in the 1990 TV movie "Return to Riverdale." Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, and Reggie Mantle come to life as well as Big Ethel and Principal Waldo Weatherbee. It's an interesting attempt to adapt the comic strip characters, imaging them as adults 15 years after their high school graduation).

The Great Waldo Pepper - Trailer This is the theatrical trailer from the Robert Redford film 'The Great Waldo Pepper' (1975). This flick about barnstorming aviators was a box office disappointment for Redford after the huge successes of both 'The Sting' and 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.' Critic Leonard Maltin liked the movie, but said it 'wavers uncomfortably between slapstick and drama.'

Our Gang - Darla Hood Darla Hood was the most famous of the Our Gang girls. Born in Oklahoma in 1931, Darla began auditioning for roles at age three. At age four she joined the Our Gang troupe, debuting in 'Our Gang Follies of 1936.' Darla's Oklahoma twang is noticeable in some of her early films. Darla's stint with the Our Gang series came during its heyday. Her character was both wholesome and coquettish. Alfalfa, Waldo, and Butch all vied for the pretty brunette's affections. She made the transition from the Hal Roach era of Our Gang to the MGM era. Her last Our Gang appearance came at age 11 in 'Benjamin Franklin Jr.' in 1943. Darla became a regular member of The Ken Murray Show during the 1950-51 TV season. She later reprised her Darla role in a spoof on a 1962 episode of The Jack Benny Program. (Jack played Alfalfa.) During the 1960s and 1970s she attended numerous cast reunions where she was a great favorite of young and old fans. In 1979 Darla was busy planning a 1980 Our Gang reunion when she entered the hospital for a minor surgical procedure. She contracted hepatitis--likely from a tainted blood transfusion--and died suddenly. She was just 47 years old.

Our Gang - Waldo Darwood Kaye played Waldo in the Our Gang shorts from 1937 to 1940. The bookish and officious Waldo was usually a minor character, although he also pursued the fair Darla. His first speaking part was in Hearts are Thumps (1937). His last was Waldo's Last Stand (1940). He had a few movie roles outside of the Our Gang series, including one alongside Lucille Ball. Following his acting days, Darwood became an ordained minister with the Seventh-Day Adventist church. He worked at various missions, including ones in Thailand. Sadly Darwood met a tragic end. On May 15, 2002, he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking on a sidewalk near his home in Riverside, California. He was 72 years old.

Rock the Boat - Hues Corporation 'Rock the Boat' is a disco song by the group Hues Corporation in 1974. It is sometimes considered the first disco record to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, though some consider this distinction to go to "Love's Theme" by Love Unlimited Orchestra (earlier that same year) or even The Sound Of Philadelphia (TSOP) by MFSB. 'Rock the Boat' was written by Waldo Holmes, who also wrote the Blacula songs. Source: Wiki

Wheres Waldo One of Many great Kids books of the 90s Oh, Waldo, how you continue to thwart our valiant search efforts. Despite your obvious penchant for flamboyantly candy cane striped red and white sweater/hat combos and your tendency to take along every possible piece of travel equipment on your obscenely crowded vacations, you still manage to boggle our minds with your mysterious whereabouts. In the original book, Waldo lugs along a walking stick, sleeping bag, mallet, drinking cup, binoculars, kettle, backpack, camera, snorkel, belt, another bag, and a shovel. Clearly, if he's going get lost in a crowd, he's got every imaginable amenity to walk, sleep, pound, drink, see, boil, carry, document photographically, dive, remain in pants, store more items, or dig his way out. That's right, it makes perfect sense. With "Waldo-mania" sweeping the country throughout the 1990s, there seemed to be no one without vested stake or interest in finding this bespectacled excursionist. There was something oddly if inexplicably satisfying about curling up with a big hardcover picture book and focusing on crowded, chaotic scenes until your eyes crossed. It wasn't just Waldo we were after, either; he brought with him a gang of of absurd cronies and/or nemeses. There was Wanda, Waldo's pal. Woof, his faithful canine companion. After that is where things got a bit weird. These were from the 90's: Where's Wally? The Ultimate Fun Book (1990) Where's Wally? The Magnificent Poster Book (1991) Where's Wally? The Dazzling Deep-sea Divers Sticker Book (1994) Where's Wally? The Fabulous Flying Carpets Sticker Book (1994) Where's Wally? In Hollywood (1993) Where's Wally? The Wonder Book (1997) Where's Wally? The Great Picture Hunt (2006) Where's Wally? The Incredible Paper Chase (2009)

Waldos Last Stand - 1940 This is a colorized version (boo!) of the 1940 Our Gang comedy Waldo's Last Stand. In this one, the gang tries to increase the business at Waldo's struggling lemonade stand by putting on a floor show! This episode marked the final appearance of Waldo and the first appearance of Froggy. In the final number, one of the dancers is five-year-old Janet Burston, the girl who would replace Darla Hood as the lead female gang member until the series ran its course.
