First ever Nascar winner Although he only competed in three seasons of NASCAR Stock Car Racing, Robert “Red” Byron holds two records that will never be beaten. He was the true first NASCAR winner winning both the first ever sanctioned NASCAR race on February 15th 1948 at Daytona Beach as well as the first stock car “National Championship” title.

GI joe figurines Three GI Joe figures from the 1980s and the cover of the first (1982) G.I. Joe catalog. The figures are 3.75" tall. (The 12" figures came later.) The first 3.75" G.I. Joe action figures (Series One) were available in 1982 and consisted of seventeen characters. A new series was introduced every year thereafter. (It should be noted that the very first G.I. Joe figures came out in the 1960s.) The G.I. Joe animated TV series was launched in 1983. This was successful enough to warrant a second mini-series in 1985. Later that year, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero became a regular weekday program that ran through 1987. In 1987 an animated movie was made. A second series was launched in 1989 and ran through 1992. I collected all of them

Got Scrubs this milk ad has three of my favorite characters from the sitcom "Scrubs." The show stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Ken Jenkins, and Neil Flynn. "A visit to Sacred Heart Hospital, a fictional teaching hospital, is sure to be a surreal, comedic trip. Expect inner monologues, slapstick situations and occasional musical interludes, all mixed in with poignant scenes of how doctors deal with real medical issues."

A Vintage 1963 Dandy the Lion by Irwin Toys Part 1 Dandy the Lion had three actions that were controlled by tapping his chin with a whip colored with fabric. He'd move forward, backward and would rear up. The basic idea was that Junior could be a lion tamer and control this ferocious(?) beast. He didn't work when I found him and I was lucky to find another beat up one and I canabilized the part to make this one work. While apart he'd rear up just fine, but I think the weight of his body and head made him struggle to rear up. Perhaps he has, as Fred G. Sanford would say, "Arf-a-ri-tis", and he has to be helped to rear up, as seen in Part 2 and 3. I will figure it out someday.

The Curly Shuffle starring Who Else But Curly Pretty funny but I'd like to hear what the women say. Every woman I've ever met says she hates the three stooges.

Jeanne Crain The Girl Next Door Jeanne Crain was born in Barstow, California on May 25, 1925. Jeanne won several beauty contests with a win in the Miss California contest which sent her to the Miss America Pageant. Although she didn't win the main prize, she did place in the final five. In 1949, Jeanne appeared in three films, A LETTER TO THREE WIVES, THE FAN, and PINKY. It was this latter film which garnered her an Oscar nomination as Best Actress for her role as Pinky Johnson, a nurse who sets up a clinic in the Deep South. She lost to Olivia de Havilland for THE HEIRESS. In 1967, she appeared in a low budget suspense yarn called HOT RODS TO HELL. Her final film to date was as Clara Shaw in 1972's SKYJACKED. Jeanne died of a heart attack in Santa Barbara, California on December 14, 2003. Her husband Paul had died two months earlier. Jeanne was 78.

NIGHT GALLERY THE ESCAPE ROUTE Ending The third and final story from the 1969 pilot of Night Gallery, entitled The Escape Route, starred Richard Kiley, and centered around an escaped Nazi war criminal living in South America and haunted by his past. He begins to visit a museum where he is drawn to a painting of a fisherman on a lake. It's such a peaceful setting, that he becomes obsessed with it and soon begins to see himself as the figure in the boat. He is soon recognized by a survivor of the camps, played by Sam Jaffe. When Israeli agents are about to catch up to him, he flees into the museum, and to the painting, there he begs God to take him into the painting. What he doesn't realize is, the painting has been moved and in it's place is one portraying the brutality of the holocaust. I think with all three stories, Rod was showing us that after all is said and done, there is justice.

Sony TC 630 Tape Recorder This is a Sony TC-630 reel to reel tape player. I had one of them back in the mid '70s. I bought it so that I could record a two man group that my buddy and I had. He played a 12 string guitar and I played a harmonica and the drums, (not at the same time... I wasn't that coordinated.) For those of you who might have had one of these wonderful machines you'll remember that it had what Sony called "Sound on Sound" capabilities. Simply put, that meant that after you had made a recording you could go back to whatever point you wanted to and record something else on top of what you had just recorded, without erasing your original recording. What I would do is record my friend and I playing a song, with me on my harmonica, usually playing something by John Denver. When we were through I would go back to the beginning of the song and using headphones, listen to what we had just recorded while playing my drums using the Sound on Sound function. When we would play back the recording it would play everything just as if we had three members in the group! What a great machine this was! It weighed about a zillion pounds, though.
