Actor Brad Renfro Dies at 25 Actor Brad Renfro, whose career began promisingly with a childhood role in 'The Client', but rapidly faded as he struggled with drugs and alcohol, was found dead Tuesday, January 15th, 2008, in his home. He was 25. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 9 a.m., said Craig Harvey, chief investigator for the Los Angeles County coroner's office. The cause of death was not immediately determined, Harvey said, but an autopsy could be conducted as early as Wednesday. Renfro had reportedly been drinking with friends the evening before his death, Harvey said. His lawyer, Richard Kaplan, said he did not know whether the death was connected to any problems with addiction. 'He was working hard on his sobriety,' Kaplan said. 'He was doing well. He was a nice person.' Renfro recently completed a role in "The Informers," a film adaptation of a Bret Easton Ellis novel that stars Winona Ryder, Brandon Routh and Billy Bob Thornton. 'Brad was an exceptionally talented young actor and our time spent with him was thoroughly enjoyable,' Marco Weber, president of the film's production house, Senator Entertainment, said in a statement. This clip is from the film 'The Cure', which was released in 1995.

Skylab Re-Entry To Earth 1979 Skylab was NASA's first orbiting space station. It was visited three times in the early 1970s before being abandoned in 1974. In 1979 it re-entered Earth's atmosphere. Fragments crashed in remote parts of western Australia. Debris was found between the towns of Esperance and Rawlinna. The Shire of Esperance fined the United States $400 for littering, a fine which remained unpaid for 30 years. The fine was eventually settled in April 2009 when a radio host, Scott Barley, solicited donations from his listeners and paid the fine on behalf of NASA. Skylab's demise was an international media event, with merchandising, wagering on time and place of re-entry, and nightly news reports. The San Francisco Examiner offered a $10,000 prize for the first piece of Skylab to be delivered to their offices. Seventeen-year-old Stan Thornton scooped a few pieces of Skylab off the roof of his home in Esperance, caught the first flight to San Francisco, and collected his prize.

The Quiet Man - Fight Scene There's nothing better than a good punch-up! The recent death of actress Maureen O'Hara prompted me to revisit the film The Quiet Man. The climax of the 1952 John Ford classic is the brawl between Sean Thornton (John Wayne) and Will Danaher (Victor McLaglen). Here is more than nine minutes of the famous and comical donnybrook!
