Soft Cell  Tainted Love I love the song...who doesn't ?! "Tainted Love" is a song composed by Ed Cobb. It was originally recorded in 1964 by Gloria Jones, and later made popular when covered in 1981 by Soft Cell. It has since been covered by numerous other groups.
