I went to Hawaii this summer in July and we made it a point to stop at The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. I took this picture from atop the memorial. The memorial sits atop the sunken vessel. 1177 sailors are entombed in the sunken vessel. You have to take a short boat ride over to the Memorial and not one person spoke a word while on the memorial, even children were silent. It was a powerful moment for me and I choked up with tears. The Arizona went down with tons of oil and it still seeps up to the top today. May those who perished on that fateful day on December 7, 1941 rest in peace!

I've laughed myself into tears watching this, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses his comedy routines. RIP Richard.

Another tear jerker, folks. On a 1981 appearance on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Stewart read a poem about his dog. It brought laughs and tears.

Here's another wonderful performance by Judy Garland that brings back alot of memories, and some tears as well. It's from the 1944 film, Meet Me in St Louis. It tells the story of four sisters living in St. Louis at the time of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition World's Fair in 1904. Judy met her future husband while making this film, he was the director, Vincent Minnelli. In 2005, Time.com named Meet Me in St Louis as one of the 100 best movies of the last 80 years.

Wow, this has got to be one of his best songs, sad, but beautiful. Clapton wrote this in 1991, after the death of his four-year-old son, Conor, who fell from a 53rd-story window in his mother's New York City condominium. By all accounts, the death was simply a tragic accident, and Clapton was distraught for months afterwards.

The original of this was done by Tears For Fears in 1982. It only reached #3 in the UK. charts, where as this version by Gary Jules reached #1 in 2003. I much prefer this one, as it gets into your head and leaves you thinking.
