1920 Houdini Poster In the 1920s, after many years entertaining crowds as an escape artist, Houdini changed his show to expose the methods and motivations of the Spiritualists, a group who claimed they could contact the dead through sťances. Testifying against them in Congress, he also exposed their tricks while on stage, an act he turned into a Broadway show. Soon, Houdini received death threats from the group.

The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor July 2007 I went to Hawaii this summer in July and we made it a point to stop at The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. I took this picture from atop the memorial. The memorial sits atop the sunken vessel. 1177 sailors are entombed in the sunken vessel. You have to take a short boat ride over to the Memorial and not one person spoke a word while on the memorial, even children were silent. It was a powerful moment for me and I choked up with tears. The Arizona went down with tons of oil and it still seeps up to the top today. May those who perished on that fateful day on December 7, 1941 rest in peace!

Another Glamour Shot Naomi yes, i'm on a kick! i just love the glamour shots of (esp) the 40's and 50's . . . here is Dorothy Malone. I was wondering what i had seen her in . . yes, she won an Oscar for WRITTEN ON THE WIND in 1956 which also starred Lauren Bacall, Rock Hudson and Robert Stack. But, i remember her as Constance MacKenzie on the ABC primetime serial PEYTON PLACE, on which she starred from 1964 through 1968.
