Happy Days American television sitcom that originally aired between 1974 and 1984 on the ABC television network. The show presented an idealized version of American life in late 1950s and early 1960s America. Happy Days centered on the life of a middle-class family, the Cunninghams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The family consisted of Howard, a hardware store owner, Marion, his homemaker wife, and the couple's teenage children, Richie (who had an optimistic if somewhat naïve outlook on life), Richie's sweet but feisty younger sister Joanie, and Richie's older brother Chuck (a character who would abruptly disappear during the second season). Most of the early episodes revolved around Richie; As the series progressed, more and more stories were written to revolve around ex–New Yorker Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli, who was originally portrayed as a local thug but soon befriended Richie and family, and became a huge hit with viewers. The focus would also occasionally shift to other additional characters, such as Fonzie's cousin Chachi, who became a love interest for Joanie Cunningham. The long-running show also spawned several spinoff shows, many of which were highly successful in their own right, including Laverne & Shirley, Mork and Mindy, and others.

Sherbet Sherbet in the United Kingdom is a kind of fizzy powder made from bicarbonate of soda, tartaric acid, sugar etc and usually cream soda or fruit flavoured. The acid-carbonate reaction occurs upon presence of moisture (juice/saliva). It used to be stirred into various beverages to make effervescing drinks, in a similar way to making lemonade from lemonade powders. Today, people usually buy carbonated drinks rather than making them at home. Sherbet is now used to mean this powder sold as a sweet. In the United States, it would be somewhat comparable to the powder in Pixy Stix or Lik-M-Aid/Fun Dip, though having the fizzy quality of Pop Rocks effervescing candy.

Vintage Cigarette Ad Targeting Exceptionally Stupid Women The complete text: I really don’t know if I should smoke… … but my brothers and my sweetheart smoke, and it does give me a lot of pleasure. Women began to smoke, so they tell me, just about the time they began to vote, but that’s hardly a reason for women smoking. I guess I just like to smoke, that’s all. It so happens that I smoke CHESTERFIELD. They seem to be milder and they have a very pleasing taste. the Cigarette that’s Milder the Cigarette that Tastes Better

Fargo In 1987, Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy), a car salesman from Minneapolis, Minnesota with financial troubles, hatches a plan to end his financial difficulties. Through his mechanic, a former criminal named Shep Proudfoot, he enlists the service of two hit men, Gaear Grimsrud (Peter Stormare) and Carl Showalter (Steve Buscemi), at a bar in Fargo, North Dakota to kidnap his wife, Jean, who will be returned unharmed for a payment of $80,000. Jerry's secret plan is to tell his wealthy but antagonistic father-in-law, Wade, that the ransom is $1,000,000 intending to use the large difference to settle unspecified debts he has accrued and to invest in a business venture involving a parking lot...another black comedy that i thought was terrific! I also got a kick out of how much and how often the local police chief, heavily pregnant Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand)and her sweet husband, Norm, ate!!

Tippi and Hitchcock She began her career as a model and was discovered for films by director Alfred Hitchcock, who saw her in a commerical and cast her in "The Birds" (1963; with Rod Taylor). "Marnie" (1964), a psychological thriller from the novel by Winston Graham, was Hedren's second Hitchcock assignment. Although Hitchcock continued to have Hedren in mind for several other films after "Marnie", the actress had become increasingly uncomfortable with his possessive manner and she declined any further work with him. Other directors who wanted to hire her had to go through Hitchcock, who would inform them she was unavailable. "It grew to be impossible. He was a very controlling type of person, and I guess I'm not about to be controlled", said Hedren, who bought out her contract. Ending their professional relationship on a sour note, she recalled, "He said, 'Well, I'll ruin your career.' And he did." ** Hedren's daughter is actress Melanie Griffith.** also *** She was named Nathalie Hedren, but given the nikname Tippi as a baby by her Swedish father from the Swedish "Tupsa" which means sweetheart. ***

AIR SUPPLY Live in Hawaii 1984 "Every Woman in the World" The duo of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met in May of 1975 while performing in the Australian production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. Their 1980 album, Lost in Love, contained three U.S. Top Five singles, including the title track, plus "Every Woman In The World" and "All Out of Love" (sample). The album sold two million copies in the U.S. The following year they released "The One That You Love" and the title song was released as a single and went number #1 on the Billboard Singles Chart. It also featured two other Top 10 hits, "Here I Am" and "Sweet Dreams". Their third album, in 1982, "Now & Forever", continued the group's popularity with the Top 10 hit, "Even The Nights Are Better" and two top 40 singles "Young Love" and "Two Less Lonely People In The World". However, Air Supply wasn't finished yet. In spite of the somewhat declining popularity of "Now & Forever" compared with previous releases, the next year would prove very big for the band. in 1983, they released their "Greatest Hits" album with a new single called "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" written by Jim Steinman. The song was one of their biggest hits ever spending three weeks at number 2 and the album eventually sold 5 million copies. Air Supply released their first live video, Air Supply Live in Hawaii. In 1985, they had one semi-major Billboard hit with "Just as I Am" and a couple of very minor hits. Russell and Hitchcock recorded a 1987 Christmas album before taking a break from studio recordings. During this time, Russell Hitchcock released his self-titled in 1988 which was not a big seller. However, he did have the single "Swear To Your Heart" in 1990 from the movie soundtrack for "Arachnophobia" which received a lot of airplay.
