American television sitcom that originally aired between 1974 and 1984 on the ABC television network. The show presented an idealized version of American life in late 1950s and early 1960s America.
Happy Days centered on the life of a middle-class family, the Cunninghams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The family consisted of Howard, a hardware store owner, Marion, his homemaker wife, and the couple's teenage children, Richie (who had an optimistic if somewhat naïve outlook on life), Richie's sweet but feisty younger sister Joanie, and Richie's older brother Chuck (a character who would abruptly disappear during the second season). Most of the early episodes revolved around Richie; As the series progressed, more and more stories were written to revolve around ex–New Yorker Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli, who was originally portrayed as a local thug but soon befriended Richie and family, and became a huge hit with viewers. The focus would also occasionally shift to other additional characters, such as Fonzie's cousin Chachi, who became a love interest for Joanie Cunningham. The long-running show also spawned several spinoff shows, many of which were highly successful in their own right, including Laverne & Shirley, Mork and Mindy, and others.

A vintage Topper Toys Johnny Seven One Man Army produced in 1964. The top selling toy of 1964! It was called the One Man Army because the gun has 7 functions. A complete one in the box commands top dollar! The gun was released during the Vietnam War and I guess they were getting Johnny ready for WAR. During this era, many televisions shows had a war theme, such as Combat and others. Topper Toys was a divsion of Deluxe Reading Corporation who only sold toys on the top shelves of grocery stores and drug stores (out of the reach of our grubby little hands) while Topper Toys sold there line in toy stores. I remember bugging the heck out of my parents to get me those toys and most cost a weeks salary. They don't make em like this any more!!!! It would be a Politically Incorrect! Where's OSAMA???

A mint in the box Remco Whirlybird. Remco made many variations of this whirlybird. This is the Monkey Division variation. Monkey Division was a line of toys Remco made and touted it as their "Guerilla War" line of toys. The had helmets, guns, rifles, bazookas, etc. Another wildly popular 60s toy put out during the Vietnam era. Toys glorifying war began to wane when the reports of scores of soliders getting killed filled our TV screens and the "Living Room War" we viewed on the news became unpopular, also it was more fun to make Love not War and the hippie era was ushered in. Parents began to object to toys glorifying war. The set also came with 25 soldiers, a tank, a jeep and truck. The whirlybird also carried all the stuff and had a working cargo hoist too. You are looking at a rarity. The soliders etc. are not shown but are still in their original package. I've often wondered how some of these toys these toys remain unplayed with? Perhaps it is old store stock and I've also heard that sometimes parents would leave the room of a deceased child the way it was when they passed. That is kind of creepy to me.

A vintage Jimmy Jet in action. Deluxe Reading sold these in grocery and drug stores and their toys were place on the top shelves to keep grubby little hands like mine from them. I remember bugging the heck out of my parents for this toy and many others. Most of Deluxe's toys were big and fanstastic! The grocery and drug stores had lay away for the items because most of these toys cost a week's salary back then. Please excuse the filming. I was sick when I was doing the filming and looking through a view finder. The lights were dimmed so you could see how it operates.

Hubley Manufacturing Co., of Lancaster, PA, produced an array of great cast iron toys for many years. Toys like cars, trucks, cap guns, trains, planes and even dollhouse kitchen appliances. Here is a restored Curtiss P-40 Warhawk from the 40's.
