Virginia Mayo is well-remembered for portrayals of Ladies and Princesses and other patrician, goody-two-shoes, blueblood types in comedies and song-and-dance movies. But when she went bad, she went all the way. In Raoul Walsh's WHITE HEAT, she was sleeping around, shooting mother-in-laws in the back, ready to rat out anybody or everybody, whatever would serve her purposes...

My favorite movie star ever (Shirley Temple) does a song-and-dance number with George Murphy in Little Miss Broadway (1938). According to Shirley's autobiography, after they had completed this scene, the crew asked for an encore. (Of course Shirley and George obliged.)

In keeping with the questionable singing talents of Michael Landon and William Shatner, I proudly present Clark Gable's only song-and-dance number. Oh, the humanity of it all!

Tina gives a stunning performance of John Fogerty's Proud Mary in 1982. Tina doesn't just sing a song-she assaults it full-force, high energy. She is a force of nature like a tornado. Known as the hardest working woman in show business, Tina works the stage like no one else in rock n roll. A true legend, there is no one like Tina Turner and there never will be. After 40 years in rock n roll, she's has earned the title Queen of Rock n Roll & is one of the most respected and idolized women in music today. The girl's got legs!!!

Here is a fun game to try. I'll name a song. The next person takes a word out of the title and names a new song. First Song- Come On Baby Light My Fire.

In this colorized clip from his 1961 BBC concert, Nat King Cole sings 'Mona Lisa.' It was probably NKC's most famous song--even though he didn't like it very much.

A #2 hit in 1969. From the film "Fireball Jungle". This is such a sweet, innocent song--beautiful voices too...a real golden oldie!

Alright, I aim to please on YRT with all of you.
Here is the successful Australian group the Bee Gee's with their hit single "Lonely Days". This performance in from the year 1975; showing all three brothers how they became more and more popular throughtout the seventies thanks to televised household exposure on programs such as this one. Originally recorded in 1970 with reknown producer Robert Stigwood, the "Lonely Days" recording really made a name for themselves amongst worldwide radio listeners, especially on the all-important American market. Sales figures on Bee Gees albums rose, with much thanks from their loyal fans who heard their harmonies vary on each album. With having such popularity, the three's continuity went right into the 1990s and beyond.
The Bee Gees have maintained their name in our song-driven pop-culture due to listenership from dedicated fans. Remember, the "oldschool" feeling is always 24/7 with me.
