Clancy the Great Roller Skating Monkey by Ideal Toys 1962 Ideal Toys introduced Clancy in 1962 and sales took off! Even grouchy old coots would crack a smile watching Clancy in action!!! Toss a coin in Clancy's hat and he'll skate towards you, or you could hold his hand and he'd skate as you walked along. Another GREAT Ideal toy. Like the jingle says, "It's a Wonderful Toy, It's IDEAL!"

Frank Spencer goes roller skating One of the most popular British sitcoms ever was Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. It was about the escapades of bumbling Frank Spencer. The man who played Frank Spencer was Michael Crawford. Yes, it's the same Michael Crawford with the magnificent singing voice who played the lead role in Phantom of the Opera for many years. Watch Frank's famous roller skating mishap. By the way, no stunt man was used. That's 100 percent Michael Crawford. This bloke has talent!

Womens Roller Derby 1952 Here's about five minutes of the New York Chiefs skating against the Jersey Jolters in 1952. Roller derby is another fine, upstanding sport--much like pro wrestling.

Barbara Ann Scott on Whats My Line I bet a lot of you don't know who Barbara Ann Scott is--and that means there's a good chance you're not Canadian. She was the 1948 Olympic figure skating champion. (This episode of What's My Line, which aired on April 17, 1955, was the first in which the panelists were only allowed one question at a time during the mystery guest segment even if the question got a yes answer.)
