Who shot J.R.? was a mass media-manufactured open question in 1980. In the CBS television series Dallas, the character of J.R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman, was shot by an unknown assailant in the final scene of its 1979-1980 season, which aired on March 21, 1980 and was entitled A House Divided.
Viewers had to wait all summer, and most of the fall due to a Hollywood actors' strike, to learn whether J.R. would survive, and which of his many enemies was responsible. Security was tightened at the Lorimar studios where Dallas was filmed.
During the summer of 1980, the question "Who shot J.R.?" was asked in everyday conversations across America and worldwide. T-shirts printed with such references as "Who Shot J.R.?" and "I Shot J.R.!" became common over the summer. Betting parlors worldwide took in massive amounts of money. People were placing bets as to which one of the 10 or so principal characters had actually pulled the trigger that shot J.R. A session of the Turkish parliament was suspended to allow legislators a chance to get home in time to view the Dallas episode.
Ultimately, the person who pulled the trigger was revealed to be the character of Kristin Shepard (played by Mary Crosby) in the "Who Done It?" episode which aired on November 21, 1980. Kristin was J.R.'s scheming sister-in-law and mistress, who shot him in a fit of anger.

American television sitcom that originally aired between 1974 and 1984 on the ABC television network. The show presented an idealized version of American life in late 1950s and early 1960s America.
Happy Days centered on the life of a middle-class family, the Cunninghams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The family consisted of Howard, a hardware store owner, Marion, his homemaker wife, and the couple's teenage children, Richie (who had an optimistic if somewhat naïve outlook on life), Richie's sweet but feisty younger sister Joanie, and Richie's older brother Chuck (a character who would abruptly disappear during the second season). Most of the early episodes revolved around Richie; As the series progressed, more and more stories were written to revolve around ex–New Yorker Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli, who was originally portrayed as a local thug but soon befriended Richie and family, and became a huge hit with viewers. The focus would also occasionally shift to other additional characters, such as Fonzie's cousin Chachi, who became a love interest for Joanie Cunningham. The long-running show also spawned several spinoff shows, many of which were highly successful in their own right, including Laverne & Shirley, Mork and Mindy, and others.

Hey Baby Boomers! Remember tonette’s? Precursor of the recorder, which in itself. is a misnomer. (It doesn’t record anything.) I think I received mine in the 5th or 6th grade. We all had to buy our own and my parents bought me a fire engine red one. (My sister got a green one ‘cause she said it looked like a pickle.) I can remember playing ”Jolly Ol’ St. Nicholas” at a school Christmas concert one year. All the boys had to wear black pants, black shoes, white long-sleeved shirt and a black bowtie. (Older is better!)

i LOVED "DARK SHADOWS," i would come home from school watch some, go stand out on the porch because i was scared and then go in and watch some more!! LOL
This pic is from Episode One: Joan Bennett (Elizabeth), Louis Edmonds and Alexandra Moltke. . . if you're not a Dark Shadows fan, the story line was simple at first. It began with Victoria Winters, a woman with a mysterious past, traveling to Collinsport to work for the Collins family as the governess for 9-year-old David. David's father, Roger Collins, also lived at Collinwood, the family mansion, as did Roger's sister, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and her daughter, Carolyn.
Movie actress Joan Bennett headed the cast as Elizabeth, and Louis Edmonds portrayed Roger. Nancy Barrett was Carolyn, Alexandra Moltke played Victoria, and David Henesy was David.

In the noir classic, I WAKE UP SCREAMING, Landis "plain" sister is played by... Betty Grable! Imagine outshining "the woman who won World War II". But Landis did it via a combination of personality and a face and body that would cost a fortune to buy today. In addition to Grable, Landis steals SCREAMING from a cast that includes Victor Mature, creepy Laird Cregar and Elisha Cook, Jr . . .
