Shirley Temple Dances with Buddy Ebsen Shirley Temple and Buddy Ebsen dance 'At The Codfish Ball.' This is from the movie Captain January (1936). Given the huge disparity in size between the two of them, this must have been a tough number to choreograph!

Shirley Bassey What a Powerful Voice Here is an outstanding 1998 performance of one of Shirley's signature songs, "Goldfinger" All of her performances are great, but this one is exceptional. At 61, Shirley's pitch and vocal power were right on the mark!! She has sold over 135 million records in her 55 years as a recording artist. In recognition of her career longevity, endurance and a particular admiration from the Royal Family, Bassey was created a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire on Dec 31, 1999 by HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Inventing Late Night TV This clip shows the start of late night television. Starting with Broadway Open House, hosted by Morey Amsterdam and Jerry Lester, with the blonde bombshell Dagmar in 1950, late night programming began. In 1954 the Tonight Show debuted with comedian Steve Allen, and then in 1957 the witty Jack Paar took over. Classic comedy clips include Zsa Zsa Gabor, Shirley MacLaine, Johnathan Winters, and Charley Weaver (Cliff Arquette).

Shirley Temple Turns 80 Shirley Temple Black, my favorite movie star ever, quietly celebrated her 80th birthday today (April 23, 2008). This photo is from 2006 when she was given a lifetime achievement award by the Screen Actors Guild. I'd recognize that face anywhere!
