Immigration Info and Manifest Lists Now Accessible There is now available digitized manifests from passenger ships entering the United States between 1820 and 1960. This search works, I was able to find both sides of my family on their original manifest list, and so much more information, including the ship they sailed on and who was waiting for them at their destination.

The Jeffersons Theme One of the most recognizable and catchy TV themes: The Jeffersons. Based on the names of the cast members listed, this is from the second season, I believe. Didn't you love Mother Jefferson and eccentric neighbor Mr. Bentley?

Pete Gray One-Armed Ballplayer During the Second World War, most able-bodied young American males were in the armed forces. That left the old and the infirmed to play pro baseball. The most obvious example of this was Pete Gray who played in 77 games in his lone major league season for the St. Louis Browns. The one-armed outfielder batted .218 in 1945.

Mothers Day Intruder on Whats My Line Why live TV is better than taped shows: On May 10, 1959, an intruder rushed onto the set of What's My Line. Milton Berle had just been revealed as the mystery guest. The Associated Press reported what occurred: "...a man in the studio audience of 550 left his seat, walked to the stage, and approached the official guest, comedian Milton Berle. The man shook hands with Berle. He then announced "I finally made it on Mothers Day." Without another word, the man walked backstage. Police later identified him as Cornelius McConell, 44, a New York City postal worker. He was sent to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric examination."

Our Miss Brooks After searching everywhere for even one clip of Our Miss Brooks, I finally found one! I don't know how many will remember this show, but I'm sure everyone remembers Richard Crenna, who played Walter Denton. This show became a real classic, and its comedy is timeless. This episode first aired on November 7, 1952. Walter invents a new type of clear paint that is great for fixing cracks and scratches in walls. Mr. Conklin orders Miss Brooks to fix up his office after Mr. Stone, the head of the board, notices how beat up the office is. Mr. Boynton decides to help Connie and Walter paint Mr. Conklin's office with Walter's new invention.
