The Adventures Of Captain Marvel I remember getting all excited as a boy, hoping that if I said Shazam I too would have these powers. Still trying. This was a staple of the Saturday morning Cinema kids club at my local Odeon. How the floor boards ever stood up to 200 screaming and stomping kids, I'll never know.

For Old Fart Michael Richards on Fridays A younger Michael Richards as 'Combat Kid' on ABC's 'Fridays'. This was what SNL used to be, high energy, edgy and hip. SNL had become tedious and chances are that if you thought the same about Friday's you were just too young to understand the comedic references. SNL had become a media institution at that point, like Rolling Stone, which used to be considered part of The Underground Press, and if you had a media product to peddle it was simply a base that had to be touched by the star or written into the sketches. Friday's didn't care about any of that. From the announcer's screaming greeting 'Liiiiiiiiiive, from the Los Angeles basin!' to music by that day's hippest bands, Friday's showcased some of the most outrageous comedy to be found on TV. Most people remember Darrow Igus's Rasta Gourmet 'Do we bake it?' 'No no no no!' 'Do we fry it?' 'No no no no!' 'til finally 'We SMOKE it!' 'ya ya ya ya', exclaimed Igus' gourmet, whose only spice was Ganja. Michael Richard's Battle Boy got sicker and sicker as he developed the character, finally taking his little Sister hostage, burying her in the ground and threatening to torture her Barbie. Then there were the times he set his Army men on fire, complete with simulated screams. Very bizarre, but funny!

MT Graves Entertained US Kids in Miami As videoholic showed us, nothing quite compares to those local television shows. In Miami in the 50's and 60's we had Charlie Baxter, a newscaster, who had fun playing ghoulish 'MT Graves' down in his dungeon every Saturday afternoon on WCKT Channel 7. The program began with the cell door rising up to the sounds of screeching and squeaking and a loud clank. In the background, eerie music played, and human screaming and shrieking could be heard. M.T. climbed out of the coffin to greet his viewers at the beginning of each program, and climbed back into it at the end, saying his greetings and farewells to his fans. My dad, who did painting for several TV stations back then, took me with him one Saturday and I got to sit in the audience. What a thrill that was! It just goes to show that it doesn't take much to entertain a kid.

2009 Sikorsky Fallen Heroes Tribute It was an honor and a privilege to have been a part of Connecticut Fallen Heroes Memorial Tribute last Saturday, June 13,2009. This was a tough emotional video to begin with, but once I added the photos of the fallen heroes it personalized it and made it even more emotional.

Judy Garland Death 1969 In March of 1969, Judy married her fifth husband, Mickey Devinko, better known as Mickey Deans. They lived together in England in a tiny mews house in Chelsea. During the evening of Saturday, June 21 1969, Judy and Mickey were watching television when they had an argument. Judy ran out the door into the street, screaming and waking the neighbors. A phone call for Judy woke Mickey at 10:40 the next morning; Judy was not sleeping in the bed. Mickey searched for her, only to find the bathroom door locked. After no response, he climbed outside to the bathroom window and entered to find Judy, sitting on the toilet. Rigor mortis had already set in. Judy Garland was dead at the age of 47. The official cause of death, according to the death certificate shown here, was accidental barbituate poisoning (quinalbarbitone). The day Judy died, legend has it, there was a tornado in Kansas.

Link Wray Rumble 1958 When Link Wray released the thrilling, ominous "Rumble" in 1958, it became one of the only instrumentals ever to be banned from radio play for fear that it might incite gang violence. By stabbing his amplifier's speaker cone with a pencil, Wray created the distorted, overdriven sound that would reverberate through metal, punk and grunge. Wray, who proudly claimed Shawnee Indian ancestry and lost a lung to tuberculosis, was the archetypal leather-clad badass, and his song titles alone "Slinky," "The Black Widow" convey the force and menace of his playing. "He was fucking insane," said the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. "I would listen to 'Some Kinda Nut,' over and over. It sounded like he was strangling the guitar like it was screaming for help." When Wray died in 2005, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen both performed "Rumble" onstage in tribute. "If it hadn't been for Link Wray and 'Rumble,'" said Pete Townshend, "I would have never picked up a guitar."
