IMO a highly under rated sci-fi movie. The remake with Will Smith,'I Am Legend' is not a patch on this original.

2001: A Space Odyssey is an influential 1968 science fiction film directed by Stanley Kubrick, written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke. The film deals with themes of human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence, and extraterrestrial life . . and it rocked!

. . .and, i was just saying that i 'didn't get' the fascination with Cabbage Patch Dolls!! but i loved these!

Sherbet in the United Kingdom is a kind of fizzy powder made from bicarbonate of soda, tartaric acid, sugar etc and usually cream soda or fruit flavoured. The acid-carbonate reaction occurs upon presence of moisture (juice/saliva). It used to be stirred into various beverages to make effervescing drinks, in a similar way to making lemonade from lemonade powders. Today, people usually buy carbonated drinks rather than making them at home.
Sherbet is now used to mean this powder sold as a sweet. In the United States, it would be somewhat comparable to the powder in Pixy Stix or Lik-M-Aid/Fun Dip, though having the fizzy quality of Pop Rocks effervescing candy.

My Dad asked me to watch this 'old' movie with him . . i thought it would suck! I mean, it had this lame-looking 'spaceman' with his protector, Gort. Boy was i wrong! This classic stars Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal, Hugh Marlowe, and Sam Jaffe and tells the story of a humanoid alien who comes to Earth to warn its leaders not to take their conflicts into space, or they will face lethal consequences (it even has "Aunt Bee" from the Andy Griffiths Show!!)

Love's Baby Soft fragrance launched around the time I was in junior high. The word 'pedophilia' had not yet come into the public consciousness so there was no controversy surrounding this brand or its advertising. . .
