clackers You would put your finger in the ring allowing the marble balls to hang below. Here is where the fun starts. The idea was to get the two balls clacking against each other by pulling up on the ring lightly. a lot of kids in the 70`s ended up in hospital with broken wrists.they where eventually banned. hehehe, health and safety was a lot different back then.

Cabbage Patch Dolls Cabbage Patch Kids are a brand of doll created by Xavier Roberts. The original dolls were all cloth and were available at local craft shows, and later at Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland, Georgia. The dolls attracted the attention of toy manufacturer Coleco, who began mass producing them for the public in 1983.The gimmicks of the dolls are their uniqueness and the fact that they were adoptable. No two were exactly alike; each doll had a different eye color, facial features, hair, and/or outfit.

Its Howdy Doody Time The Howdy Doody Show was one of the first and easily the most popular children's television show in the 1950s and a reflection of the wonder, technical fascination, and business realities associated with early television. While Howdy and his friends entertained American children, they also sold television sets to American parents and demonstrated the potential of the new medium to advertisers.

Movie Legends Jane Russell Jane Russell was born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell in Minn on June 21, 1921. She first became interested in drama in high school, and in 1940, was signed to a seven year contract by millionaire Howard Hughes, who arranged for her motion picture debut in The Outlaw (1943), a story about Billy the Kid that went to great lengths to showcase her voluptuous figure. Although the movie was completed in 1941, it was released for a limited showing two years later. There were problems with the censorship of the production code over the way her ample cleavage was displayed. When the movie was finally passed, it had a general release in 1946. Together with Lana Turner and Rita Hayworth, Russell personified the sensuously contoured sweater girl look and became a popular pin-up with Service men during World War II. She went on to perform in an assortment of roles, which included playing Calamity Jane in The Paleface (1948); Mike Delroy in Son of Paleface (1952), Gentlemen Marry Blondes,The Revolt of Mamie Stover, Fate is the Hunter and many more. Though her screen image was that of a sex goddess, her private life lacked the sensation and scandal that followed other actresses of the time, such as Lana Turner. Although in her autobiography, Jane admitted that she had survived two attempted rapes un-harmed, that her first marriage had been speckled with adultery and violence, and that she had been an alcoholic since she was a teenager. She also revealed that in addition to this, however, she was also a born-again Christian, which was one of the things that had helped her cope. Jane Russell currently lives on the Central Coast of California.

Walt Disneys Song of the South 1946 Disney's first live-action movie mixed in animated scenes to tell the stories of kindly ol Uncle Remus, including the tales of Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear … and the Tar Baby. The movie, which had faced accusations that it promoted racial stereotypes and the idea of the slave-slavemaster relationship in a positive light, won a 1947 Best Song Oscar for the song on this clip, Zip a Dee Doo Dah, and was a major cultural force in its day. But it's been on the shelves for half a century and has never been released on home video in the U.S. because of Disney's concerns that depictions in the film viewed in today's world, might not be viewed as kindly or as politically correct. However the studio is currently mulling over the idea of DVD release as soon as 2008. In my opinion, this is a film that made millions of children happy. It was adults who put an end to that. I hope you'll enjoy this with the same sentiments as in which it was posted.

Topper Toys 1964 Johnny Seven One Man Army A vintage Topper Toys Johnny Seven One Man Army produced in 1964. The top selling toy of 1964! It was called the One Man Army because the gun has 7 functions. A complete one in the box commands top dollar! The gun was released during the Vietnam War and I guess they were getting Johnny ready for WAR. During this era, many televisions shows had a war theme, such as Combat and others. Topper Toys was a divsion of Deluxe Reading Corporation who only sold toys on the top shelves of grocery stores and drug stores (out of the reach of our grubby little hands) while Topper Toys sold there line in toy stores. I remember bugging the heck out of my parents to get me those toys and most cost a weeks salary. They don't make em like this any more!!!! It would be a Politically Incorrect! Where's OSAMA???
