This clip is odd for a couple of reasons: It's been colorized and the dialogue is in German! However, the important part--Alfalfa singing Let Me Call You Sweetheart--is in English. This is from the episode Hearts Are Thumps (1937) in which Alfalfa's buddies, angry that he has betrayed the principles of the He-Man Woman-Haters Club, sabotage his lunch with soap.

The shapely young lady in this photo is Darla Hood of Our Gang/Little Rascals fame. Wow! She didn't look like that when she appeared with Spanky and Alfalfa!

The Our Gang/Little Rascals films began in 1922 during the silent-movie era. Here is the first six minutes of a rare 1927 film called Ten Years Old. No chance these will ever air again. What kid today would watch a silent black-and-white movie?
