this is not the plastic one that came out later . . this was introduced in 1962 and was a real winner!! Tags:barbiesdreamhouse Added: 11th August 2007 Views: 408 Rating: Posted By:lambchop
A cool plastic model of Wonder Woman made by Aurora in 1966. Sales of this kit were dismal and it appears that young boys just weren't interested in woman superheros. Wonder Woman is controling the menancing octopus with her magic lasso. A truly cool 60s kit! Aurora Plastics Corporation put out a line of model kits base on D.C. and Marvel Superhero Comic Book Characters. This is the original version kit. Aurora was the leader in producing all plastic figure assembly kits. I stripped off all of the old gloss paint (remember Testor's glossy enamel paint?) and put putty into the seams that I was able to do without losing detail and repainted the kit using acrylic paints. Acrylic paints make the kits look more realistic. This kit shows Superboy and Krypto encasing a dragon into a rock! I had a golden retriever (may she rest in peace) and I named her Krypto. Superman, "The Man of Steel" busting through a brick wall. Another in a line of Superhero model kits put out by Aurora Plastics Corp. The popularity of figure model kits fizzled with the introduction of G.I. Joe. Now kids could have a figure that moved instead of a motionless model kit. Aurora held its own and still produced kits. I stripped off the old glossy paint and used acrylic paints to make it more lifelike. Tags:vintagemodelsuperherotoys60s Added: 15th August 2007 Views: 474 Rating: Posted By:dezurtdude

Another of Aurora Plastics Corporations line of popular TV and Movie characters. I found this Zorro at a yard sale and didn't repaint him because it already had a fairly decent paint job on it and I was afraid that I may break some of the little pieces when I attempt to dis-assemble. A really cool classic toy from the 60s produced by Marx Toys. Garloo was a very large battery operated that retailed for a whopping $17.98 in 1961! That was a ton of money! You can steer Garloo with the little steering wheel on the remote control on his battery box, move him forward or backward, open or close his arms and make him bend over to pic up objects. Marx also put out a 3 inch metal and plastic wind-up called Son of Garloo. Tags:marxvintagegarlooclassic60s Added: 20th August 2007 Views: 443 Rating: Posted By:dezurtdude
