GOODFELLAS Trailer The story of Irish-Italian American, Henry Hill, and how he lived his day to day life as a member of the Mafia. This film was actually based on the true story of Henry Hill, who was eventually placed in the witness protection program. Bobby DeNiro gave an awesome performance, as did Joe Peschi, in fact the entire cast gave a really believable performance of how it was being involved with La Familia back in the 50's and 60's. I sometimes forget that they were only acting. Everytime I watch this I find myself getting hungry, there are a couple of scenes where Henry is putting together a great Italian meal, and I don't think there's an Italian out there who's been able to sit and watch this without wishing for some pasta and sausage.

BOB DYLAN LIKE A ROLLING STONE 1966 Dylan's 1966 performance in Great Britain. Rolling Stone mag claimed that this was the best song ever recorded. I don't know if I agree with that, but I sure remember riding down the highway with this song blasting out of the radio!

Pavoratti Dead at 71 Last Public Performance Another legend passes today. Although I'm not a fan of opera, I had a great respect for this man and his art!

REMEMBERING JOHNNY CASH AND JUNE CARTER Here's a show from the 1976 "Johnny Cash & Friends" summer series, with Johnny & June engaging in some humorous dialogue (comparing themselves to Sonny & Cher; June doesn't have a navel?) and then performing their signature song "Jackson". Johnny really hams it up in this performance. Also, notice Johnny's reaction when it seems June gives him a playful kick. And check out the kiss at the end! Good days to remember,

WAR OF THE WORLDS 1953 Paramount Pictures gave us this great classic sci-fi film, adapted from the novel written by HG Wells in 1898. Gene Barry as Dr. Clayton Forrester, gave an outstanding performance hiding behind some rather large framed Foster Grants, and Ann Robinson, played by Sylvia Van Buren, in the supporting role helping him try to defeat the invading enemy from another planet.

Bosom Buddies ABC 1980 to 1982 Who would have thought this sitcom would be the catalyst that would help rocket Tom Hanks into superstardom? It was a funny show, after their own apartment building was demolished, Kip Wilson (Tom Hanks) and Henry Desmond (Peter Scolari) had to pose as females in order to live in the all female Susan B. Anthony Hotel because of the dirt cheap rent. There were several fine performances by Donna Dixon, Wendie Jo Sperber, Holland Taylor, Lucille Benson and Telma Hopkins of Tony Orlando and Dawn fame. This reminded me of Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in Some Like It Hot.
