Sergeant Bilko 1951 Parade Originally known as "You'll Never Get Rich" and then "The Phil Silvers Show," the granddaddy of all military sitcoms was broadcast from 1955 to 1959. Silvers starred as Master Sgt. Ernie Bilko, the con artist supreme who turns Fort Baxter into his personal base of operations for one get-rich-quick scheme after another. Harvey Lembeck, Joe E. Ross, and Maurice Gosfield as Pvt. Doberman were among the members of Bilko's platoon, and Paul Ford played the camp commander. . .

City Lights - Final Scene One of the great movie endings ever! To truly appreciate this scene you should watch City Lights (1931) in its entirety. Nevertheless, here's a brief summary: Charlie Chaplin's tramp character has been mistaken for a rich man by a blind flower girl. Charlie gets into all sorts of misadventures in order to raise enough money for an operation that will restore the girl's sight. He ends up going to prison. This scene is set months later when Charlie is released from jail. Charlie is more bedraggled than usual. (Note he doesn't have his bamboo cane!) Charlie passes by an upscale flower shop and sees the girl who now has her vision. She takes pity on Charlie and gives him a coin. She then recognizes him by the mere touch of his hand and realizes the sacrifices he must have made for her. Pass the tissues!

Operation Petticoat - 1977 Here is the best cast of the series that was broadcast in 1977. Tony Curtis' daughter, Jamie was in this series for the first season. Yes, that is Gomez Addams, John Astin. The second season though sunk with cast changes.

Operation game commercial A 1980s-era commercial for Operation, the poopular kids game. (Somewhere in my closet, I still have one I got as a birthday present in the early 1970s.)

Operation Petticoat - 1978 Here is a series that was shown on ABC from 1977 to 1979. Tony Curtis' daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis played a nurse on the shows first year. Her father, Tony Curtis, he was in the motion picture version of this series. In the second season of this series, it should be noted that entire cast was completely diffrent. Missing in the second year was also John Astin. An actor who was known on television as Gomez from the black and white series 'The Addams Family' among a few others. His son would later be featured in 'The Lord Of The Rings' movie trilogy. In the end, the new cast change was a mistake for the program. The series was soon taken off the air. *E*

Would She Still Push Them Today In 1952, opera singer Margaurite Piazza made this commercial for Camel cigarettes. In 1968, she endured three operations on her face to remove cancer, and, in 1973, she was treated for cervical and uterine cancer.

Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam Bob Hope Christmas Show 1968 Bob Hope began entertaining troops in May of 1941, when Bob, with a group of performers, went to March Field, California, to do a radio show for airmen stationed there. He would continue that tradition through peacetime and wartime for another 60 years. On December 22, 1968, Bob's "Operation Holly" performed at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. This video records that event. The original film was silent, so the audio from his performance at Long Binh Army Depot that same Christmas has been dubbed onto the video.

Cliff Clavin Shock Therapy One of my favorite scenes from Cheers: Shock therapy! Cliff has an operation and no one from the bar visits him in the hospital. To become more likable, Cliff attempts a radical personality makeover: He gets a psychologist to give him a jolt of electricity every time he reverts back to his old self.
