Martha Jane Canary-Burke In her later years, Calamity Jane appeared in Wild West shows, including the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, around the country, featuring her riding and shooting skills. But her chronic drunkenness and fighting caused many problems, and after she was fired in 1901 from a show, she retired to Deadwood, where she died of pneumonia. they forgot to mention that in the Doris Day movie.

Movie Legends Jane Russell Jane Russell was born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell in Minn on June 21, 1921. She first became interested in drama in high school, and in 1940, was signed to a seven year contract by millionaire Howard Hughes, who arranged for her motion picture debut in The Outlaw (1943), a story about Billy the Kid that went to great lengths to showcase her voluptuous figure. Although the movie was completed in 1941, it was released for a limited showing two years later. There were problems with the censorship of the production code over the way her ample cleavage was displayed. When the movie was finally passed, it had a general release in 1946. Together with Lana Turner and Rita Hayworth, Russell personified the sensuously contoured sweater girl look and became a popular pin-up with Service men during World War II. She went on to perform in an assortment of roles, which included playing Calamity Jane in The Paleface (1948); Mike Delroy in Son of Paleface (1952), Gentlemen Marry Blondes,The Revolt of Mamie Stover, Fate is the Hunter and many more. Though her screen image was that of a sex goddess, her private life lacked the sensation and scandal that followed other actresses of the time, such as Lana Turner. Although in her autobiography, Jane admitted that she had survived two attempted rapes un-harmed, that her first marriage had been speckled with adultery and violence, and that she had been an alcoholic since she was a teenager. She also revealed that in addition to this, however, she was also a born-again Christian, which was one of the things that had helped her cope. Jane Russell currently lives on the Central Coast of California.

Jane Russell . . . well, this is the still that made Jane Russell famous! . . from the Howard Huges production of The Outlaw" in 1941. . .and although the film was made in 1941, it wasn't released until two years later and then only on a limited basis due to the way the film portrayed Jane's assets. It was hard for the flick to pass the censorship board! Finally, the film gained general release in 1946. The film was a smash at the box-office...

Miss Solar System well, Jane would have been disqualified nowadays! (she is a Mrs. and not a Miss) . . this is one of my favorite episodes where George and his boss arrange a beauty contest and decide to be the judges. Jane finds out and enters the contest without George knowing about it . . she even sings, "Won't You Come Home, Bill Spacely"!!! (sounds like something Lucy would do!)

Bright Road Old movie poster from the movie "Bright Road," which only has one white actor, Robert Horton, in the cast. Not important now except in the context of the era. Jane Richards (Dorothy Dandridge) is a young 4th-grade teacher in the South that has a problem in her classroom with 11-year-old C.T.Young (Philip Herburn), a backward boy whose pride has made him a stubborn rebel and an exalted liar.

John Belushi and Jane Curtin Belushi achieved national fame for his work on Saturday Night Live, which he joined as an original cast member in 1975. Belushi was also known for his drug usage, and it eventually cost him his life. On March 5, 1982 Belushi, age 33, was found at his room at Bungalow #3 of the Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The cause of death was a speedball, an injection of cocaine and heroin. On the night of his death, he was accompanied by friends Robin Williams and Robert De Niro (at the height of their own drug exploits). . .
