Girl Watcher was a short-lived girlie magazine from the late 1950s. It was designed to be a humorous, over-the-top publication, in the vein of Mad Magazine, although more overtly and outrageously sexualized.

Mad is an American humor magazine founded by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines in 1952. It is the last surviving title from the notorious and critically acclaimed EC Comics line.
Offering satire on all aspects of American life and pop culture, the monthly publication deflates stuffed shirts and pokes fun at common frailties.

Tool Time was the fictitious handyman show-within-a-show in the television situation comedy, Home Improvement. It was hosted by Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor (played by Tim Allen) and Al Borland (played by Richard Karn). The sponsor of Tool Time was Binford Tools, a fictitious tool manufacturing company. <Part of the show's attraction was its token "Tool Time girl", whose primary roles were to look good, be curvaceous, roll out various props and help introduce the two hosts. In the first two seasons, Pamela Anderson played Tool Time girl Lisa. When Pamela left the show, Debbe Dunning stepped in as her replacement, Heidi, who stayed until the show's cancellation. A fictional flashback to the first episode shows Mrs. Binford (most likely the mother of Mr. Binford, due to her age) playing the part of the Tool Time girl. Also in an ironic, but humorous twist, that "first episode" featured Tim with a beard, while Al sported a clean-shaven face, a direct opposite of their normal look. The 100th episode of Home Improvement (which aired in 1994) celebrated Tool Times 5th anniversary, thus revealing that Tool Time debuted in 1989

Here's a show from the 1976 "Johnny Cash & Friends" summer series, with Johnny & June engaging in some humorous dialogue (comparing themselves to Sonny & Cher; June doesn't have a navel?) and then performing their signature song "Jackson". Johnny really hams it up in this performance. Also, notice Johnny's reaction when it seems June gives him a playful kick. And check out the kiss at the end! Good days to remember,

WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) — Actress and comedian Brett Somers, who amused game show fans with her quips on the "Match Game" in the 1970s, has died, her son said. She was 83.
Somers died Saturday at her home in Westport of stomach and colon cancer, Adam Klugman said Monday.
Hosted by Gene Rayburn, "Match Game" was the top game show during much of the 1970s. Contestants would try to match answers to nonsense questions with a panel of celebrities; much of the humor came from the racy quips and putdowns.
Shows from the 1973-79 run, featuring regulars like Somers, Richard Dawson and Charles Nelson Reilly, are still seen on cable TV's GSN (formerly Game Show Network.)
Somers married actor Jack Klugman, the future star of the television shows "Quincy" and "The Odd Couple," in 1953. The two separated in 1974, but never divorced.

Do you remember when he would patrol the neighborhood in his white uniform and cap and the kids would all run after his truck until he stopped to dispense his ice cream treats? My favorites were an Eskimo Pie or a Fudgesicle.. for only a dime!

Family Ties ran for 8 years and starred Michael J. Fox as Alex P. Keaton, the conservative, business-oriented son of liberal parents Elyse and Steven (Meredith Baxter-Birney and Michael Gross). Elyse was a successful architect, while Steven ran a public television station. They lived in suburban Columbus, Ohio with their children: Alex (Michael J Fox, Mallory (Justine Bateman) and Jennifer (Tina Yothers). Another child, Andrew (Brian Bonsall), was added later.
The majority of the show's humor was derived from the tension between Alex's conservative, Republican mindset, Mallory's uninformed consumerism, and their parents' attitudes as liberal Democrats, who grew up as hippie flower children in the 1960s. This show gave Michael J Fox his shot at superstardom, and aren't we all glad it did!
This show began two spinoffs, Day by Day, which lasted two seasons, and The Art of Being Nick, which was produced as a pilot but never picked up as a series.

During a time when teenagers were doing the jitterbug and Uncle Sam was asking young men to enlist, The Andrews Sisters were America’s most popular female singing group. Patty, the youngest sister, was a loud and energetic blond who headed the group with her confident vocals. The middle sister was Maxene, a brunette, whose harmonic range gave the impression of four voices instead of three. Finally, completing the trio was the eldest, LaVerne, a strong willed red head with a witty sense of humor and an eye for fashion.
ACHIEVEMENTS
· Earned nine gold records
· Recorded over 700 songs
· First all-female group to have a record go platinum
· Sold over 90 million records
· One of the first vocal groups inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame
· Over 100 songs on top 30 Billboard charts
· 46 songs reach the top 10 on the Billboard charts
· Some hits include: “Beer Barrel Polka” (Roll out the Barrel), “Bei Mir Bist Du Schon” (means that you’re grand), “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Winter Wonderland”
