Fury NBC TV series 1955-60. On UK TV late '60s, early '70s. One of Hollywoods most famous horses, the horse's actual name was Highland Dale who starred in "Giant" and "Wild Is The Wind" among several other major motion pictures from 1946 to 1957.

Alan Young and Daughter i'm sure u remember "MR. ED". . The stars of the show were Mister Ed, an intelligent talking palomino American Saddlebred ("played" by gelding Bamboo Harvester), and his owner, architect Wilbur Post (played by Alan Young). Much of the program's humor stemmed from the fact Mister Ed would speak only to Wilbur. According to the show's producer, Arthur Lubin, the shows producer, Young was chosen because "he seemed like a guy a horse would talk to." . . . this fact REALLY makes me happy!!!

Groucho Marx Sings Im Against It Groucho Marx sings two songs in Horse Feathers (1932): I'm Against It and I Always Get My Man. I've always thought the first song was terrific. (I tend to sing it myself whenever I see a politician or an activist on TV espousing a cause with which I disagree.)

Secretariat Wins the Belmont This is of of the most outstanding things in sports you'll ever see: Secretariat decisively captures horse racing's Triple Crown in 1973 by winning the Belmont Stakes by a remarkable 31 lengths! Secretariat's winning time was 2:24--still the Belmont track record. CBS announcer Chic Anderson makes the classic call.

AMERICA A Horse With No Name Personally, I like their original 1972 version better, but they still sound great today. Their first album, titled 'America' was released in Europe with only moderate success and without this song. But the producer, Ian Samwell was looking for a song that would be popular in both the US and Europe. He helped the group to record this song and then persuaded Warner Brothers to re-release the album with the song included. The original song title was 'Desert Song', but was renamed at Samwell's suggestion. It was written on a rainy day in England and was intended to capture the feel of the hot, dry desert Dewey Bunnell remembered from his childhood at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Bunnell's voice sounded so much like Neil Young's, that after Neil's father heard it, he called his son and asked him when he had recorded it! One thing that I think is funny is the line that included '...the heat was hot.' I mean, what else can heat be? Anyhow...I still love this song!
