The story tells of the childhood of Damien Thorn, who was switched at birth with the murdered child of a wealthy American diplomat. Damien's family is unaware that he is actually the offspring of Satan and destined to become the Antichrist. . this 1976 thriller starred Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, and David Warner. . . but scariest of all (for me) was the music!!

Now here's a real childhood memory for me. Locally we called these Bogies or carts, which was a bit confusing as this could also mean something else. A set of old pram wheels a couple of planks of wood, a bit of rope and of coarse a soap box or a crate of some kind. You then had the makings of some great fun and a quick way to accept pain. Tell the kids of today about this and you get that well practised blank expression.

Here is a '57 Chevy AM/FM radio/cassette player from the '80's. The front hood opens to insert the cassette and the rear trunk opens to hold the batteries and AC cord. The headlights are the speakers, the windshield is the carrying handle and the antenna is, well, the antenna. The front driving lights light up when the unit is on. The front license plate says "RANDIX '57 Chevy." It was marketed by the RANDIX Co. but was manufactured in China! (It's probably been giving out melamine rays all these years!) I actually bought this at a Toys "R" Us. For those of you who watch reruns of "Home Improvement," you might have noticed one of these sitting on the shelf of the "Tool Time" set. (One of my favorite shows.)

This brings back so many memories of my childhood in Brooklyn NY and watching this on TV. I must have been all of 6 yrs old. Of course, I never realized back then how awfully, awfully bad this show was. LOL

Do you remember these beautiful Disney moments? I can't watch this without getting teary eyed, and still it brings back so many happy memories of my childhood as well as that of my children. Without Walt Disney the world would be a much sadder place.

Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes, was #1 in the UK in Jan '70, and #5 in the US in February of '70. That smash hit proved to be so successful that Edison recorded other songs under other group names which duplicated the sensation of their first hit together.
As White Plains, their single of My Baby Loves Lovin' reached #13 in the US and #9 in the UK. Under the name of The Brotherhood Of Man, their United We Stand reached #13 in the US and #1 in the UK in 1970. Whatever works!

It was September 16, 1952, and American audiences were sitting in their seats at the neighborhood theaters, watching these two for the very first time. Anything with the brand name Acme would never be thought of in the same way again.

Dirty Dancing was a 1987 film which is credited as being one of the most watched films of all time. The film stars Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Cynthia Rhodes, and Jerry Orbach. The story details the moment of time when a teenage girl crosses over into womanhood both physically and emotionally, through a relationship with a dance instructor during a family summer vacation in the Catskills. Approximately one third of the movie involves dancing scenes, and the finale is considered by many to be "the most goosebump-inducing dance scene in movie history.
