Roosevelt Hotel Extremely historic place for Hollywood buffs. Spanish Revival style. Opened in 1929 with owners including Louis B. Meyer, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mary Pickford. The first academy awards were held here in 1928 or 1929 (then called the "Merit Awards") in the "Blossom Room". The set for the TV show "This is Your Life" was located here. The Cinegrill was a famous 1940s nightclub still existing inside. Marilyn Monroe used to stay here and her ghost is said to still haunt the halls (hey - it helps business). Reasonable rates, but rooms facing Hollywood Blvd may be a bit noisier. You can see the hotel in the films Beverly Hills Cop II and Charlie's Angels 2.

Dustys Trail Theme Song From the movie "The Wackiest Wagon Train in the West"(1976) ...which simply strung together three episodes of the not very popular "Gilligan's Island" remake "Dusty's Trail" (1973) Here's how it goes: Produced by Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of Gilligan's Island, this series took the character of Gilligan, changed his name to Dusty, placed him on a wagon train and dared him to try to find the west! They surrounded Dusty with very recognizable characters - The wagon master played by Forrest Tucker (Skipper); a rich couple, Ivor Francis and Lynn Wood (Mr. & Mrs. Howell); saloon girl Jeannine Riley (Ginger); school marm Lori Saunders (Mary Ann); and an engineer played by Bud Cort (Professor). With Dusty as guide, the wagon train wandered all over the place, and it was a sure bet that this group would never make its way west, in much the same way the castaways were never able to get off the island thanks to the lovable, well-meaning Gilligan...Starring: Bob Denver - Dusty, Forrest Tucker - Wagonmaster Callahan, also Co-starring: Ivor Francis - Mr. Carson Brookhaven, Lynn Wood - Mrs. Brookhaven, Jeannine Riley - Lulu McQueen, Lori Saunders - Betsy, Bill Cort - Andy

American Ingenuity in the 30s This is an original idea, but I think I'd rather just stay on shore.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS 1956 New Trailer During the 50's, there were so many biblical blockbusters produced, even though if you check in the bible, you'll discover that the facts have been changed for entertainment value. Still, Chuck made a great Moses, and no one can wear the costume of an Eqyptian pharoah like Yul. My first idol at the age of 10 was Chuck Heston. I sent him a letter and receivedd back, not only a note, but four autographed stills as well. Today this wouldn't happen.
